Completely agree .. i had a bit of a blast the other week and was oww ... this is so old now .. but new map etc might make it a returner

Vehicle-whores were always the ruin of this game. TKing on the runways, and that other crap... is why I went infantry-only when it came out.
i cant have reinstalled this more than a month ago, and had a few goes and it was a blast but soo much harder than bf2142 which i play competitively but i'm downloading the new patch adn will give it a blast when i have a moment. I never really found it unfair, it was always pretty balanced imo, although the support weapons accuracy was always rediculously bad, it has a longer barrel and has a far longer effective range than a normal rifle, but they seem to miss this over at ea.
I only have one problem with the patch. I can't connect to any servers, well, nay of the 10 that are already there, I can's start my own either which is highly annoying, I'll just re-install later.
I haven't played this for ages it was such a classic an so much fun online, will have to try and get hold of the patches now
I agree play 2142 alot .. or should I say did, until recently. Don't seem to have the time anymore. But even that is getting a little stayed now, the same maps, the same tactics etc. Plus all the idiots that seem to be flaoting about, then maybe it's the servers I'm on. Must join a clan again. But I think a return to this might just be on the cards as only the serious ppl with have found it and installed it
Highway tampa is my current map of choice - lots of tanks and plenty of opportunities to c4 - used to play kubra dam a lot - great for sniping...
I'm wanting to give this another go myself, anyone tried it on Vista 64bit and have it working? I just installed BF2142 to give it a go after ages of not playing anything on the PC, but it's giving me a load of jip.
I think I will hold out until its properly released. What annoys me is how woefully under powered snipers are.... "This gun can shoot through armoured helicopter glass" But someone standing 2 foot in front of you takes 2 shots to kill... Yeah right =/

Yeah... because running into claymores at every corner, getting nade spammed at every flag and half the kits being reduced to useless is a much better alternative..... Heck no, dont even go there. Theres already well too many snipers in the IO servers, give them 1-shot kill weapons and the game will become unplayable.
If I choose to be a sniper and simply use claymores as an offensive weapon, can you match me? If I grenade-spam you, can you copy me? Of course, you can. If I rape you with impunity from 500 feet, can you copy me? Only if you TK the **** in the J10. Anyone can choose any kit. But only a few can commandeer land vehicles, and fewer still can command the all-conquering jets. You are sounding suspiciously like a plane-whore who can't hack it as a grunt....
