I hope they can get themselves out of debt soon so we can have some fierce competition with Intel (hence better for us).

Hmm I've got a bunch of old intel chips kicking around. Maybe I could sing happy anniversery to AMD whilst, urinating on the intel, chips stomping on them and then setting them on fire before finally offering them at a hand made AMD altar of sacrifice?

You could do, but you are in the UK. We're ineligible.

All I have to say is:

Is this company still going? Can't imagine why since every product release for the last 3 years have boot marks from the competition all over them. A share price of $40 in Jan06 to around the $3.50 mark now.

Maybe one of our American friends can submit a picture of the Titanic going down or a huge pile of cash burning.

Sorry if that's too negative but I have no confidence in this company.

    Intel fangirl?

Keep afloat AMD, I have been with you since the beginning. Screw Intel and their monopolistic practices!

I am trying to be unbias but anything that has come out of AMD over the past 2 years has been a real dissappointment to me. Nvidia and Intel get instant flak no matter what they do but AMD release a pretty weak CPU or GPU for that matter and the AMD cheerleaders come out showing their asses. Take this topic for instance, it tells us absolutely nothing of any importance at all but the cheerleaders come out anyway. Just marketing crap from a dying company. Stick a fork in them, they are done!

Seconded, though lacking the entire ASCII table committed to memory, I had to use an online converter :(

I'm sorry if this is off topic, but need I remind you that it is thanks to AMD/ATI that Nvidia and Intel have to lower the prices of their own products? I mean come on, the 8800GTX literally was over $500 (USD) which has now been reduced to a "measly" $130-160 USD. As for Intel, I'm pretty sure that without the existence of AMD, then the price for a CORE 2 QUAD would be over $500 just cause its a QUAD, let alone the Core i7.

So please don't say that AMD/ATI should go away as I like the lower prices that I have to pay for, especially in this economy.

Back to the original intent of the post, I seriously think someone should implement the evolution of the platforms from a cell floating around to a Spider in a web capturing insects to a Dragon fighting other animals. The Dragon should then blow fire that screams "Happy 40th Anniversary AMD!"

The last Intel processor I used was the Celeron 300A. My first AMD processor was a 486 DX120. I currently have 4 ahtlons running in house, the fastest being a Athlon64 x2 4800. The slowest a XP2400, the other 2 are X2 3500.

My next processor will be a Phenom X3 720 B
