It looked an Enterprise, now it looks it in stereo. ;)

    Update 19.5.2009

First i attached one 7mm high slice more. I bended it with my hands and used hammer to get it smoothly in the surface.

In this picture you see what i mentioned when said it gets "twisted". Acid proof steel shrinks a lot when welding it, so frame was crushed 15mm shorter in that open side (front)

    After welding:

Welding this side didn't reduce enough heat to get it straighted, so it was still crushed 10mm.

So i gave some heat treatment for it and heatet that outer curve to red coloured and when it was cooled, it was in right measures.

To keep frame straightened i attached temporally support, it will be removed later.

Then i made some drawings and cutted another plate:

After that picture my camera was full, i was been too lazy to remove old pictures.:wallbash:
So, here is the frame now:

I did it in sameway than earlier weldings, so i hope its not a big miss.

I'm not totally hiding the psu, this is going to be a frame around it and psu will stay visible in someways.

Allthought i will do some cutting, welding, sanding, shapening and polishing before its done.

I hope you understanded, its just hard to tell what you are making if you don't know the right words.

E: Weldings at the backside, last one started to look like it should, first ones melted too much through.
Haven't welded much with tig since last summer when i changed my job. But this side wont be visible, so it hasn't big matter.

Thanks The boy 4rm oz. Funny, i have somehow readed earlier "The boy with 4 arms" :D

Thanks! I think that the best thing in modding is that you learn something everytime you try something new to you. That's most important reason for me to do this.

I finally got some parts more, cpu-cooler and victim to webcam-mod.

This cover needs redoing, so lets dump it right away.

    And quick test with uv-light.

I usually post pics at 800x600m decent size and will fit everyone's monitors without scrolling.

I have to agree, your weldings are very good. It is amazing to watch your project log.

Thanks again The boy 4rm oz.

Thanks tjay@TJ and ringo. In my next project i need to do loads of watertight welding, so then we see do i really know about welding. I'm attending to make mainframe, reservoir and radiator in one same part.

I was wondering should i keep the cpu-cooler in copper coloured and just cover it with simple transparent airguide, or should i make a new shiny one using steel?
Copper kind of fits with the mb's heatsinks...but those are very small and not so visible.

I supposed to finish my "turbine-mod" today, and actually i did...
I started to took pictures of fans spinning..... hmm. As you see something is missing.

Then... sometimes man do fubar things and i did, i wanted to try would fan really hurt you when hitting your finger to it. :thumb:

No, it doesn't hurt, but fans don't like it...

How stupid one sometimes can be. :D

Those we're mentioned to be just temporal and sure they was . :) So, next i have to change them but transparents.

Well...could have ended up worse, I suppose. They could have been San Aces or Deltas, and ended up with a missing digit instead of fan blade! :eeek: :hehe:

Yeah you are lucky. I accidentally got my finger stuck in my Thermaltake Smart Cool (bloody loud and fast fan that is). The blade slipped under my finger nail and almost ripped it entirely off, painful and bloody stuff.

Never had a fan injury before, but ask tranc3. One took a bite out of him.
I am still in awe about your metalworking skills.
