Short answer: no it can't. Just got this game yesterday and I'm going to have to turn down everything and overclock my GPU. I wouldn't consider getting this game unless you have a 4850 and above at least.
There is a patch which was released offically I believe to turn of motion blurr that will give you an extra 3 or more frames a second I believe. Are you using the computer in your signature?
If your computer cant run it very well, then mine doesn't stand a chance, I was really looking forward to having a go on this
Currently, it runs very slowly on almost all hardware and is pretty buggy, but of all Bohemia Interactive games have been released this way... give them a few months and they'll be a slew of patches to sort out most of the issues. e.g. a second patch was released yesterday: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=75075
installing it now..... hope it runs ok =[ you have to remember that it is a small team that makes this game so im told, so give them time to get the bugs out before bit-tech reviews it. should of had a better/longer beta imo but i don't make the games, i play them. UPDATE: Graphics would be ok if it let you use AA but it is disabled, have no idea why. Buggy as hell. Controls are OTT. Motion is jumpy and unrealistic. My rig can just run on high, its a hardware hog. Mouse smoothing is nothing but a pain in the ass. The game is clearly unfinished If you havnt orded and thinking of, dont. I just wasted £25
mine is fine personally on v.high with 200% fill rate a small bit of slowdown the worst part for me currently is i cant get into the story right now
Yep, now I've installed the 1.02 patch I can run it on highest at about 25-40FPS Anyone up for a round? Current servers are a bit rubbish.
Runs fine at high settings on my rig and 1680 x 1020, just going to install the new patch to see if it lets me crank anything else up or not. To be honest bug squashing will do me just fine.
The BT review is awaiting my boxed copy to arrive as the re-release review code we were sent was incredibly flakey (it was a beta). I've got a couple of motherboard reviews to finish off first, then I'll sit down and finish off the Arma II review for later this week.
Im surprised. After playing it for the weekend, ive got to say im chuffed as hell. Game runs sweet on my PC with everything on v hight (shadows High). Its like i imagined Arma to be like. Had a few shots on multiplayer and am enjoying that to. Make sure you install the latest patch. If you want AA you ahve to set the 3d res to a high resolution and have the interface res to your monitor resolution (it will down scale it). C2D 6600(3ghz OC) 8 gig ram 8800 gtx 1280x1024
I think the fact you're playing it at a lower res helps alot. I've got a GTX 285 winging its way to me so should enable me to crank it right up. As for the gameplay I'm really enjoying it, thumbs up so far, not as many bugs since the patch which is a big bonus. I'm sure it will be refinded a whole lot more in the coming months.
Looking forward to it. Pre-Ordered it from Zavvi for £17.98! However, it's still not arrived. Plus the next day my mate tried to buy it from Zavvi too but the wacked the price up to £24.98.
My two start suffering at hih/v.high with max view distance up, but eh. The viewdistance isn't that noticable past about 2700 anyway.
has anyone tried this on an AGP system yet, if so could you please tell me how it went. Im thinking of getting this Thanks Gaz
A.) Mine's the GB version and I don't think it supports crossfire. B.) I haven't tried it with max view distance yet.
I take it you haven't played any vehicle or flying missions yet? As with OFP and Arma, 2700m is more than adequate for infantry missions, but as soon as you start getting weapons systems that can target and fire over several km you need a big viewdistance.
Atm running on Medium with 1440x900 2k view distance E6700 2.6Ghz | 2gigs PC6400 800mhz | 8800GT | Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB | Runs great and looks nice on my ageing PC.
