Thanks a lot mate. The tubing doesn't really bother me as once it is filled with coolant and lit under UV light you can hardly see the spots on it, they will cover over time anyway. I actually think the fogginess of the tubing enhances the glow under the UV light.

I have done a bit of OC lately, got my Q6600 up to 3.2GHz stable and clocked my 8800GTX past any of the average OCs I have seen. My 3DMark06 score went from 11,633 to 14,027 so I am pretty happy with that. I am going to try to get my CPU up to 3.4GHz and then I will try to OC my RAM a bit.

I don't have any time to work with any OCs now or finish of my HDD cover as I am busy studying for my exams next week. Hopefully after then I will be able to get an update to you guys.

    Thanks a lot Carpet3.

Got my first exam in the morning guys, wish me luck ;), then I have another on Wednesday and my third and final on Friday.

I promise that next week I should get my HDD cover done and get the whole thing together for another beauty shoot.

This mod is awesome. What coolant are you using? The colour is really really good!

Thanks a lot mate, I'm glad you like it. I can't wait to finally get it all back together and have a few long gaming sessions lol.

Thanks man. The coolant I am using is the AlphaCool Tec Protect UV Green, a very nice coolant IMO.

Im glad to see LEXA back up and running. Great overclock, Ive gotten my Athlon 4850e (i know cheepo) to a stable 2.83 from a 2.53 clock. I dont know what the FSB went up to since my computer is all apart.

Thanks man. Yeah I am pretty happy with the OC, I am going to do my RAM soon, just finding some reviews etc. then I am good to go.

Thanks Mark, don't worry, I have been keeping tabs on your mod also ;).

Just a slight update guys. I know I said I would have an update soon but I have just been to flat out lately to do anything. I have Wednesday free from Uni so I am hoping like hell to get the HDD cover finished, I would really like to wrap Project: LEXA up once and for all.

Also letting you guys know I have plans for another LEXA mod in the works, this is going to be something very different, a worlds first but I wanna hold out until the Intel i9 processors come out early next year. I will be starting the search for sponsors soon so if you know anyone who is interested or want to sponsor me yourself, send me a PM :D.

Haha, yeah another LEXA. I have done a lot of planning, figured out how to maximize the case space and keep it as simple and as clean as possible, I really can't wait to start it but there wont be any work until the end of this year on the middle of next, if I am lucky.

:D, there will be some structural work but no where near a much as my current LEXA. Nothing brutal but there will be some heavy modifications.

Well guys, I finally have something to show you. I had my day off uni today so I turned off my phone, unplugged the TV and turned off the modem and set myself the task to finish my HDD cover. This is what I got up to :D.

First of all, for those of you who don't know what my original HDD cover look like, here is a pic:
Ok, so here is the cover all masked up and marked for cutting, yeah I had made some prior mods before I got to this stage:
Next up I started the cutting. I decided to use a hacksaw saw as it made a neater cut than the Dremel and gave me more control. So I clamped my piece of plexi to the vice and off I went:
Well soon I ran out of room on the vice and migrated over to the BBQ lol:
And once again I ran out of room on the BBQ so I moved over to the work bench, got a block of wood and picked up my Dremel:
The cover all cut out, took all of 2 mins lol:
    Holes drilled:
    And countersunk:
Next I measured and marked up a piece of mesh:
Cut it out with tin snips:
Drilled the corresponding holes and gave it a test mount on the plexi:
It all fitted well so I gave it a quick test install:
    Fits like a glove :D.
Finally I painted the mesh, cleaned up the plexi and attached the two together:
    Then I installed the cover:
Turned out pretty well I think :D.

Well that's the last, the final piece of LEXA that needed tweaking or re-doing so now all I am waiting for is a nice clear sunny day for the final photo shoot, then this mod is 100% complete and I can focus my attention of designing my next mod ;).

Well that's it for now, just waiting on the weather ;). Until then...

    Happy Modding.
