thanks for the suggestions. the terrago disc looks to be a good option; has some nice discounts now too! got a question about the brakes: are they an open or closed system?

Just been down the lbs for a fitting, seems to be a national shortage of bikes for any one over midget. Couldn't get the scott i wanted nor a similar trek but i've ordered one of these instead.

Its about £60 more than i intended to spend talk about mission creep, though i nearly walked out with a ~£950 1.2 so all things considered i was quite restrained.

Anyone here had much experience with 29'ers? The rep for Haro was in the shop today and i've got a Haro Mary XC coming in on a demp in the next month.

What is your take on this kind of bike?

Does it have one of those weird-looking one-legged forks? Or is it just a tall one?

I had a play on a Cannondale lefty once, it was really weird. It takes a few moments every time you glance down to remember it's meant to be like that.

They are Maverick Duc 32 's, dual crown dual legged inverted (same design as most motor bikes basically).

gee I'm suspecting my Marzochhi Dirt Jumper will give up on me... It makes VERY worrying noises :/ Sucks not to trust on it, and would suck even more if it failed when coming to or when landing a jump. Sigh dunno what to do.
