If my math is close to be right within 7 days we should pass this massive milestone, shame we can not find out who gets that particular point (unless someone knows different to me).

Uncle Fungus should be able to find that info for you.
    Would be interesting.

Yep we're headed for the big one billion :D I've been looking forward to this myself for a few weeks now. If Uncle Fungus can actually find the info on who submits the WU that puts us on or past 1,000,000,000 it would be immense!

OK, can we get confirmation of this? Pure vanity would make me start up all my folding machines to try and get the all-important point.

Member's name in the magazine would be a nice touch - anyone from the mag reading this?

It'd probably be a lot of work but I'll PM uncle fungus to see what he can do.

You should start all your machines anyway.

There's not many of the magazine staff left, I think they're double busy filling in at the moment.

Personally I don't have any way of accessing that data, however I'll email the stats guru at stanford and see if it's possible. I suspect it won't be (practically speaking), but there's no harm in asking.

The main problem I see, is that stats are processed in batches, and those batches won't necessarily be processed in a first-in-first-out fashion.

I stopped folding years ago due to heat issues.

However at work I have control over 4 Intel Xeon Quad core servers at 3.2Ghz each, in an air conditioned room. How good would they be for folding?

Hmm, could do over the summer holidays when the servers are on but unused for 7 weeks - mind you the AC probably won't be and I think the room may melt. At my old VI form they have 22 apple mac pros (xeon quads),.

At the moment, holidays and people covering.
Since the merger (& the recession thingy) they've cut back on the freelancers. The freelancers appear to have done most of the stuff in the mag (as with most mags).

If we want features or stuff in the mag, let me know & I can get in touch with JG. We're in fairly frequent email contact.

No worries. Now I just need to get a regular folding coloum in the mag and we can get these interteam comps running.

phoenicis- fancy helping me rally troups over on my site?
