To be honest when I first heard the song I thought he was a comedy singer too. I like the ability to not be serious in a musician though

Sampled so many times, but nothing can beat the original haunting vocal and the piano riff. Unfortunately most versions on the 'tubes are crap quality, with horrible compression, but here you go:

To get the Adrenaline flowing when I was in a bit of a mood, I used to play this on a 1.5KW P.A. system in my room.
