Sounds like the approach Lucas himself has been taking only he's not managed anything good for significantly longer.

    AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHH!!!!!11 :p

Honestly? I don't care about all the 14 year olds getting confused. Most of them feel like they know it all [almost like Cheaps :p] but have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA about the games that started it.

/me is back to playing some TTDeluxe, Civ or DR... :p

    se-weet !

that's why I love steam now ! I can't think of any other app out there that was hated by everyone when it first came out and then years later it's become absolutely amazing :D

I wouldn't mind replaying Jedi Knight II. I was just so young back then and I didn't understand a single word of english, which made it hard to play some games. Just browsing the menus was a pain haha

Picked up Fate of Atlantis (£3  ) , just as good as I remembered it. Could never get it to work properly in XP, but this ran on Win7 with no problems. It ran windowed initially, but Ctrl+Enter switched to fullscreen

That answered my question in the latest purchases thread...

Glad to hear it's running flawlessly. Time to install Steam on the laptop I guess. :)

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is fairly new - it was built on the Quake 3 Arena engine. Do you mean the original Jedi Knight, which was Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight (and it's add on pack, Mysteries of the Sith) both of which were awesome. :D But getting them to run on XP or Vista? Nightmare. :( Modern graphics cards are just too powerful and lack some of the features that older ones had.

Really, Dark Forces, Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy should be must plays for anyone who wants FPS Star Wars goodness. :D It was the fact that JKII was so good that made me think that Republic Commando could have been so much more than it was.

    why precisely this date ?

You're right, noob mistake on my part here. It was indeed Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. I believe I still have the original box somewhere

I suspect that November 2008 was when Steam decided to start charging $ in the US, £ in the UK and € in Europe. Unfortunately, despite the fact that the € is stronger than the $, Steam think a 1:1 conversion is correct.

And sorry for the ramble about Jedi Knight. I was so hooked on those games. Jedi Knight was the first game I ever played multiplayer on. :D

Yeah, the MSN Gaming Zone. :D Wow... back in the day... playing Jedi Knight and Q2DM1 on the Zone... I was pretty good at Jedi Knight, but sucked royally at Quake 2. Lightsaber fights were sweet. :D

Best bit of Jedi Outcast? The console tweak that allowed for lightsaber dismemberment! :D

As mentioned, in December 2008 Steam increased all prices an innovative exchange rate, US$1=1€.
What may cost you US$50, cost here US$70 (50€).

I was suspecting that to be the case but I didn't know they suddently changed their prices. I thought it was progessive or something less obvious at least

There is nothing progressive about this € price policy from Steam.
Not even the price decreases are working:

Its like Steam is being managed by someone totally oblivious to the european market.

To be fair, I don't think that's entirely fair. All of those games are EA titles and we know the price is set by the publisher...

Whats the excuse for other publishers game prices, then?
I only took those images beacuse those are the games I didnt bought (Securom...) and was thinking on geting at bargain price.
