okay, time for a small update, but its mostly just your vote that is required on what i should do next !!

Theres been no updates for a while due to exams and such, but thats all out of the way now
Okay, so first off i lapped the 920, knocked about 5 degrees average off each core

also I got the quad SLI going with an 8800GT for physx


Also got a scythe himuro for the hard drive and a white fan to make it look a little better. heres how she looks at the moment:



Northbridge temp. gonna replace the thermal paste with some MX2 and see if that helps.




heres where you guys come in (well, the ones that bother to read all this )
got some money saved, what should i do next? please help me choose!

Order the phase cooler (about £320)
Get the case mods done (powder coat, lasercutting, etc.)
Buy an SSD.

can only really do one of these this month as they are all expensiiiiiivvvve.

I'd get the phase cooler. You should see what exactly you will need to fit it then cut and powder coat. Then mods, then SSD.

Major Update!!

Received new case today! I know this whole project was built around a V2x00 but this PC343 came up and it has been professionally modded by marcus at WCUK (it was his rig!) and it was at the right price, and it is exactly what I wanted looks wise, so I jumped at the chance.

I just noticed the i7 sticker is upside down ah well i'll be getting rid of that damn cooler soon. LittleDevil is building my SS as we speak

LittleDevil is working on my phase unit all the way over in slovenia, and I have to give him credit, I must have been the most akward customer, constantly changing my mind and whatnot, so big thanks to you if you're reading this for being so understanding

Also I've ditched the i7 920 and found a 950 which is a proven 5.2ghz chip, so hopefully we shall see some utterly epic benchmark scores

I had an LD unit for a few weeks two years ago, fantastic little units

( I think my condenser was a little bigger though)
