I'm sorry, you must be mistaken, we are referring to the Alien movie canon. You must be referring to an entirely separate, unaffiliated movie which I may or may not acknowledge the existence of

:hehe: Resurrection was a good film, it just wasn't an Alien film.

I have seen The Godfather (all three) and bored myself half to death. Mafia is just not my thing...
I have seen all alien movies, Fight club, and some others...

Some that i have yet to see (older classics):
    Platoon, for one.

oh, and i wish i could put Titanic on this list, but alas, i had the misfortune of watching it once, and it not being a movie i want to watch.

I've actually tried to see movies from the IMDB top 250 list. But some classics/great films are just so old I find them painful to watch. I just can't stand the old colors (or B/W), rubbish sounds, and over-acting commonly found on old flicks. Godfather is one I should see, but I think I've kinda seen it some time, but not completely, so it's not too high on my list.

Make sure that you watch the Final Cut version of Blade Runner, it's the only version which Ridley Scott had complete artistic control over and it's his definitive vision of the film.

Haven't seen a few of the films mentioned above: godfather / platoon / titanic / shawshank / Bladerunner / FMJ / Raging Bull / and I'll add most (non-sci-fi) war films to that list I'm usually not interested in them.

Of the above the only one I want to see is Bladerunner.

I got the exact same advice from a friend. I bought the standard dvd version a while ago but luckily never got round to watching it. I've since downloaded the Final Cut version so I will get around to watching it at some point.

Never seen Bladerunner, might do sometime (DVD's stashed away somewhere). Never seen Godfather and don't particularly care if I never do.

use the imdb top 250, sort by the last 3 or so decades, and that way you'll get all the greatest films but avoid the "unwatchable" black n white oldies.

Update: just discovered my gf has never seen city of god, this will be corrected swiftly and we beg forgiveness form the mighty film overlords!

Blade Runner is one of those films like 2001 which can be mind numbingly boring sometimes but the rest of the time it's jaw droppingly good - real groundbreaking stuff.

The one and only that I have not seen and have always wanted to is Schindler's List. I don't put watching things off. On average I watch a movie once every two days, sometimes more. I have seen a ridiculous number of films in the past few years. Having a friend who was until recently (just graduated) a Film & Media studies student wouldn't help. He easily watches a film per day, and learns from each one.
