    The only use I can think of for this is to try out a Linux distro. Then you can save settings/files and such and not worry about space issues.

    too slow for that kind of space to be useful.. it'd be nice to have but if you had to d/l gigs of data somewhere you don't have 7 hours.. get it faster

    They regularly lose whole laptops full of confidential records in Denver. School records, banking, SSN, addresses, everything.

    Easier to guard a small thumb drive than a laptop.

    I actually broke a Kingston DataTraveler 8GB flash drive in half after being pissed off by the slow write speed.
    With that poor write performance to storage space ratio they are useless. I use them to transfer large video files and I need it to happen quickly dammit.

    needs dual USB/eSata or USB 3 / eSata, for this device to be useful (the Write speed is likely limited by the flash)

    If i got one for free I would prolly just use it for backup. But think about it why would they want to make it eSATA? Sure we have eSATA and all that stuff. But most PCs used in public areas, even servers and what have you are old and sometimes dont even support USB2.0.

    My 2.5" USB drive is perfectly pocket sized. Cost about £50 for a 320 GB LaCie drive and that was quite a few months ago.

    Really can't see the point of this drive. USB flash should always be less than £100 otherwise it looses it's appeal. Ideally it should be about £20 for a very good one.
