Die Hard Trilogy was totally awesome... I love that game. For me the 2nd part was best, break out the GCon from Time Crisis and start cooking some fools!

Is it wrong that I quite enjoyed the first few levels of Jaws? I really enjoy the Street Fighter movie too (although *not* the game of it)...

For some reason while reading this I thought: Doesn't LOTR deserve a mention? It was pretty fun.

Oh and 007: Nightfire was pretty decent, not even close to the film, but it was a fun game.

My favourite movie tie-in, which I recently started playing again, is Scarface: The World is Yours.
Basically GTA with an 80s Miami twist and lots of swearing in foreign languages.
    Has an awesome soundtrack too.
Definately worth a look if you like Scarface the movie. :)

    Damn Tron 2.0.....

It was the only game that would continually 'BSOD' my system in 2004.

Never did figure out what caused it, but i suspect it was Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 5.1 drivers.

"the ego-driven sequel was unapologetically awful"

No your wrong.....TCOR is a modern day classic......ITV2 show it every 2 days, therefore i am right and you are wrong....:))

I take great issue with this article, and it is entirely to do with the fact that only a couple (Aladdin and Die Hard) of the games mentioned are actually games based on films. The rest are either too loosely based on the film, or simply based in the universe. Only the two games mentioned are actually good and based on a movie.

The Thing, Riddick and Goldeneye are all based on actual films too...

Also, Goldeneye was amazing, I can still remember when I got my N64 and first played it. Those were the days, when you didn't have to sell a kidney to buy a console...

Tron 2.0 was a sleeper, had so much fun back in the day too

Trying to escape the disk format as it engulfed the entire level, as you tried to jump to a new partition was especially inspired... as was trying to download abilities as you were being attacked and cursing your slow download speeds :D

Crap, how did I forget Goldeneye?! Sorry, add that. Damn I loved that game.

But Riddick is not based on a film, it is based in the universe, and is a prequel to the films. And The Thing is based after the film.

    Ditto.

    ...

I was unimpressed by most of the LotR games, though. Only Battle for Middle Earth II was half decent.

As it happens, I've just stumbled across my old copy of Blade Runner which I'm going to install in DOSBox on the Wife's NC10...

Somebody nicked my PS1 disc of Die hard Trilogy (not the box though, just the disc), no idea who... The 2nd game was my favourite (<3 light gun games)

I think the X-MO: Wolverine game should have had a mention, I've really enjoyed playing it (in shortish bursts) over the last couple of weeks (+ it's got to be better than the film). If You've played "Viking", you'll know what to expect as it's very similar.
