@The boy 4m Oz: if airbrushing is too expensive and you're doing flat colors, try sanding the acrylic down and then spraying it with a can. Cheap and almost as good looking, esp for smaller parts.

Yeah I was just double checking. I will just the the case powdercoated first and then try to find a matching rattle can for the plastic pieces or I will just paint the entire thing myself with a nice automotive paint. The plastic I was wanting to paint was cast plastic, like what they use for detail pieces or front fascias on cases.

If you don't mind me asking Seth, how much did it cost to get your pieces powdercoated? Just so I can get a rough idea of costs.

$140.00 AUD for both the black and the white.

Tamaya is a RC/Plastic Model company, that also bring out their own brand name plastic paint cans, and they are great quality paint for plastic, cans cost around $10.00 AUD, you could look into them.

@ DonT-FeaR, ty :), gives it some depth.

That's a pretty good price, I will have to look into it around Adelaide. I have seen those Tamaya cans, I used to use the paint pots when I used to make model cars, great stuff, I will have to give it a go. Thanks for the help mate. +rep

Congrats on your MOTM victory sethnmalice!

Really nice work, can't wait until it's all done!

Have you worked out how to do the lighting? Might just be me, but I think the layers would look really impressive with the plexi lit up in between the opaque alu pieces.

    Woah....

Ty to all that voted, and I'm hanging out ....absolutely itching to get AC Ryan Gear. (Going into a new project) AC Ryan gear isn't readily available in Australia, so it's something to look forward to from them.

    On a brighter note...

    @ Bad_Cancer, I hope so :)

@ TheGovenator, I think you may be disappointed, theres no lighting planned except for the fans. Being home theater I didnt see the need to have lighting anywhere. Couldn't do it anyway, mirror acrylic has mirror film on it, couldn't get lighting onto the red acrylic either, I had to improvise with that, natural lighting will contribute to some of the effects I hope to achieve. You'll just have to wait and see the final result. I hope it'll be worth it.

@DonT-FeaR, thanks for believing in me :)

Minor Update, Ordered a heap of M3 and M4 hex bolts to finish off the project, arrives lunchtime tomorrow, so hope to have an update for you tomorrow night.

Again big thanks to those who voted for my project and to bit-tech and AC Ryan, its moments like these that make modding very rewarding. :)

That is seriously awesome, everything turned out really well. Nice work. It also casts some pretty awesome looking reflections on your walls.

More progress pics with hardware installation.

Installed some hardware as u can see, and the front and back fans, all fans will be powered of the motherboard, I have a 600watt PSU ULTRA, I'm working on the cable management, but I'm 90% certain it'll be a mess no matter what I do, its not a modular PSU.

    The PC is AMD 3700+ (2.2GHz), 2 gig DDR1, 7800GTX 256MB GPU.
