    To quote the sadly departed:

"Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemists, but that's just peanuts to space."

    Nice find, UG. :thumb:

"Space is not only stranger then we imagine, it is stranger then we can imagine."

Trust Stephen Fry to put up a great image.

Stephen Fry was the perfect voice for the Guide. When I read the books, I now hear his voice.

Look... Stephen Fry is folk-hero and a British institution, and all that.... But he is not Peter Jones. Peter Jones is THE BOOK. Stephen Fry merely did a voice over on a recent film.

Same goes for Stephen Moore voice of a certain android. Alan Rickman merely did a voice over on a recent film. ;)

[edit]Oops. David Learner was in the suit, it was Stephen who was the voice :duh:

    Awesome pics

That first pic could be photoshopped into a single scaled image, but it wouldn't be that accurate, just from how small most of the planets are at the start of each stage.

I know it would have to be fcuking huge, but it would be really cool to see a large single scaled image, showing these planets and big stars... anyone got a pic? :naughty:

That is really cool. These also make me feel insignificant! Love that second video!

Video 1, Morgan Freeman narrating I'd guess? Something about his voice and David Attenboroughs. I could listen to them for ever.

Also once again, the universe is bloody stupendous and wonderful. I love nature.

And just to make us seem even smaller...

Then add to that VY Canis Majoris, which is more than twice the size of Antares.
