I could be falling for PR persuasion here, but the quote from Laurent Detoc gives me the impression that Ubisoft at least acknowledge the excellence of the game.

Like everything else in the mainstream games industry these days, though, if it's not a headline-grabbing, platinum-selling big-name game then it'll just get put on the backburner.

Why waste time and money on BG&E2 when they've got the Far Cry franchise, amirite?

:( BG&E was a BRILLIANT game... i just really hope that this is a "temporary hold", but i somehow have my doubts... as Joe said: The original sold very little...
    Very sad news indeed.

Aww man BG&E was a classic game supremely worthy of a sequel.

    Hope it sorts itself out.

Well, of course they canceled it. Why bother making a unique game with an emotionally engaging story when you can spend the time and money and creative effort on something so much more interesting, like a game where you run around and shoot things?

That's a real shame. I recently replayed BG&E once the news of a sequel came out and it is a truly fantastic game and story. I never did work out why the original didn't sell while some real cack does. You can't even blame the consoles as I think the game featured pretty low just on PC charts.

If you wear a tie or have an MBA you should not be allowed near the gaming industry. The don't teach what it takes to make a great game in University, period.

It was a mis-match of audience from the fact that it looks like a kids game, but really isn't. Also, it came out in Summer and wasn't really advertised or marketted at all.
