TV Shows Huzzah! Big Brother is DEAD!

Finaly, Channel 4 has seen sense and has decided to pull the plug.

Shame we have to put up with another season of 'look at me, I wanna be famous' freaks and 'look at me, I want to be famous - again' celebs first.

But the END IS NIGH!

 

I never notice when it's on anyway.

 

I do, Scrubs stops in E4 which is annoying during the summer holidays.

Fantastic news. But kind of irrelevant, because BB never takes over the media any more. Which probably shows a lack of interest, and hence why it was pulled.

good news day I hate big brother, it ruins e4 when its on with hours of mindless crap. id sooner detune my tv and watch the static.

i think anyone that wastes their money ringing in to vote shout be shot, or have their names on a list like paedophiles and have to go around thier neighbourhood telling people that they vote and are part of the reason big brother is polluting our tv.

the only reason channel 4 kept it up is its cheap tv, think of the hours and hours every week they save having to pay to show proper tv when they put big brother on instead thats costs them very little and then people ring in to give them even more money.

 

My thoughts exactly. It's the same for any reality show - be it BB, Strictly Come Yawning, Muppets on Ice, I once was a celeb, leave me here to rot, Britains got no Talent etc. It's relatively speaking cheap to make, and dosen't require a great deal of thought to commision and run.

Think how much thought, money and planning goes into original drama (and yes, that includes soaps I guess) or factual TV. A hell of a lot more than BB and it's ilk.

To sum up - Reality TV = Lazy TV.

 

Nope, apparently it was costing £70 million per series - and Channel 4 needs to cut back £100 million.

 

tbh whilst this is a good thing id prefer to pull the plug on these shitty talant shows that always seem to be on ALL THE TIME!

 

For a program that gets broadcast 24 hours a day for weeks at a time that's pretty cheap.

 

Yeah but it dose nothing, id rather hook up a CCTV camera of my drive and sit and watch that!

I always wondered who watched that show.. it plays over here too but with a different cast of butt plowers.. I watched maybe 15 minutes of one episode years ago and never watched again.. it's seriously boring, how did it become so big with shows like survivor 500x better

 

They are finally killing it? Great. Are they going to publically kill all the "stars" it's made too?

About time, I have not paid attention to big brother ever and am happy to see it go due to the fact all tv on c4 and e4 always becomes tripe whenever its on.

 

But stars like Jade Goody, Kate Lawler and Brian Dowling have been my moral and spiritual guidance, how will I cope?
