Hello all, I was wondering if it is possible to put a laptop battery in a desktop computer, for the purposes of portability and power-cut protection. Has anyone done this before? Is it possible, but hugely difficult to do? Thanks, Casefan
Forget it. Even if there was a way to convert and distribute the power from a Laptop battery, down to 12v, 5v, 3.3v etc etc. The current draw from a PC would flatten a laptop battery in minutes.
Try taking one of these babies: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7070947/Trail/searchtext>GENERATOR.htm add your computer and a jerry can to a shopping trolley you dragged out of your local river/tributary/pond/lake/body of water and there you have a portable desktop computer!
Hell Yeah! Especially when you got kick ass ideas like my ghetto mod. btw.... i got a laptop. shhhhh!
