http://www.techradar.com/news/computing-components/9-upgrades-to-turn-your-pc-into-a-monster-632267 Stupidest article i've seen in a while. How do you define "monster"? How do you define "best PC"? This article is just a large advertisement for overpriced parts that 90% of people don't need and 50% of gamers don't even need. What the hell is the point of this? There's no budget limit or anything. Is it catering to anyone in particular? No. And some of these would require you to build a new PC altogether. Some idiot running a single-core Celeron from 2004 can't just "upgrade to a Core i7" without getting a new motherboard. And maybe then he could also buy that brand new DDR3 ram. He'd be building a brand new PC that he will not be utilizing for crap, most likely. Even if he did need the power, there are much cheaper parts that will offer it. What has it told anyone that they don't already know? If you upgrade parts on your PC, it will be faster. I think that falls under the "no s**t" category... Bury this on Digg
Love the last part of that sentence - seems implies that it might well have not been working at all but they just didn't know!
It is daft. The subtitle for the article is 'Top of the range kit no gamer should be withou' and then go on to list the Fatal1ty USB gaming headset, which is pants. By their own admission: They've even mixed the present and the past tense. Honestly, some people.
What an absolute mess of parts. They go for a water cooled gpu a high air flow case and then a Domino ALC for the cpu?! That makes no sense at all. *hugs Bit-tech* I like your buying guide more
eh? Running what? It runs at 1600Mhz so it runs at 1600Mhz? Was this written by a 10 year old? edit: wait what? all-in-one CPU water cooler and a water cooled graphics card minus the kit needed to actually cool it?
Nevermind that the site occupies my whole monitor (17" 1280*1024), the content occupies about 3" by 2". We're overthinking our complaints. The website is crap, so who expects them to know anything about more complicated things, such as computers...
A coolit ALC CPU cooler that failed miserably in any cooling tests, and they recommend it? What a bunch of twits. Never mind it could all be put on one page, and is the biggest load of rubbish I've seen in a while.
Ah the Coolit ALC. I now use it as a test for the worth of tech website - the ones that rate it well get put onto my mental ignore list.
what REALLY ticks me off is the lack of content on each of the pages. This is the inter-tubes FFS you dont need to put a single word on every page. its as if they've thought that the best-est article is the one with the most pages. i fully expect them to use size 72 font next!
Say what..? As for the sound card.. well, the Xonar isn't bad but if you want to use EAX.. X-Fi is the only option AFAIK (not that it's a bad thing IMO) >.> Amusing read either way, it's sad to know some people will read this and take it to hear though..
