Going to get one, not sure whether to cancel or keep me £50 preorder though.

No preorder sales, student prices or MSDNAA's around here. I'm going to have to order the one with a full €130 pricetag :waah:

The MS page is odd, it gives the same price for Professional and HP. If that's true, who'll buy HP?

Pass. Either way it'll be good, although this sounds like it'll be an upgrade-only version?

I guess the people who've been told to go on their by more tech-literate friends, but see Pro and think "arghhhhhhhhhhh" and choose the more friendly-sounding HP.

Is that really a problem, though? Surely everyone has a copy of XP or Vista by now, don't they?

If the Pro version really is available for £30 then I'll definitely be buying it. If their next OS turns out to be a bit of a shocker like Vista was and I end up skipping it altogether, I'll probably end up needing the >16GB RAM support.

I don't mind it now, but the next time I want to reinstall it will be a cockache. Although the key might be valid for a non-upgrade-only disc.

Not only did my uni sign me up to MSDN AA but it still seems to work despite the fact that I graduated 4 months ago. :D

Yea I noticed Windows 7 was up on MSDN AA just today, downloading X64 and X86 versions now. Not sure if I can trust 64 bit completly as my gaming machine though.

If you went to the right college you could've been in the MSDNAA and wouldve gotten Ultimate free.

I should definitely stop reading your news as each and every of those seem to come with the "UK ONLY"-hook at some point.
