Films Framerater (Top 250 Films)

Framerater is back on-line again now after it was in the b3ta newsletter and died under the strain of new sign-ups.

The idea is you log in, then go through the list of the top 250 films of all time (from IMDb) and tick off what you've seen. You get achievements for having seen certain groups of films (all from 1980s, 25%, etc.). It's just some silly fun, but you get more out of it when you follow people and have your own friends table.

I'm on there as hex, who else is on there then?

 

Oh dear, I've only seen 58 (at least, they're the ones I can remember watching)

Though I have seen over half of the top 25, and after the top 125 I've barely seen any at all (I don't think I will ever see some of them TBH, as a lot of them are oldies or foreign films). There's some on there I know I've been wanting to see for a while so I'll have to get round to it at some point.

I seem to watch a lot more woefully poor films than I do good films.

I think if it had more insane Japanese/Thai films on there I'd be a lot higher up the ranks! As for the oldies, some of those are really great films and are shown on TV fairly often. A good b&w film can cheer up a rainy afternoon for me

My film viewings has some really rather large holes in it - like I've never seen Star Wars V, although I have seen all the others several times over.

I've managed 81, a lot on the to view list, one day I may get round to watching them all.

 

It's 110 actually, didn't spot "Million Dollar Baby" and "Changeling" the first time around.

I thought I was doing good for having watched 73 of them. Oh well, hopefully my film class will give me a big boost.

 

Went back through the list with Marilyn's help. 149. I too seem to be missing a lot of newer films.

p.s. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but if anyone hasn't seen #214 - Letters From Iwo Jima, I strongly urge you to watch it ASAP. It's one of the most powerful and spellbinding films I've seen in many, many years.

Would you say his his other one worth watching as well? Can't remember the name ATM, but it was told from the American side IIRC.
