This is my first ever foray into the world of building/Modding. I've moved a bit of hard ware from case to case in the past but nothing quite like this.

I'm very new to this site and this is also my first ever posting on this forum

I'm well aware that this is a "Marmite" case. I quite like it and there don't appear to be that many people out there modding it so most ideas are fresh ones.

I am inspired by the industrial look of this case and thought with the big fan on top it ought to come with a "warning" sign on it. So the black and yellow seemed an obviopus choice

Anyway my work is not in the same league as most of what i've seen on this forum but thought i'd share the fruits of my labour with you all.

I've not annotated the pictures as i figure the pictures should tell the tale.

Please let me know what you think, good or bad.

Be interesting to see where this is going :) Like what you've done with the cables!

Have you tested these fans? I was under the impression that painting them while they're still on the frame is not the right way to go about it.

Otherwise, great work so far! Like you said, not much has been done on these cases so I'm watching to see how this goes :)

Fans work fine, I was a bit wary about it, but figured if I masked off well it would be ok. As long as the paint doesn't get into the bearings things should be fine.

Nwxt step...modding the cpu cooler. I bought the titan fenrir but liked the look of the scythe gentle typhoon.

Also decided to mod the RAM cooler

And a switch box that i'd build previously to control the lights in the case. I wanted to add some military style switch covers which when they arrived weren't quite the right shade of yellow (might be getting a bit anal but there you go). I also had to cut them down a bit as the back panel was a bit too long.

bit more of the build. Had to turn the cooler round 90 degrees as it was going to obscure the RAM

I've wanted to see one of these modded and you've done a fantastic job imo. Especially with the switches, nice work! Saw this log yesterday and I'm glad you've done an update ;)

    Nice job on the colorscheme.

Seeing the part assembled again, it all comes to their rights. :thumb:

planning on modding another one of these in the near future, and would like to open up to suggestions for themes and colour schemes.

I have in mind a military style mod, probably in olive drab with the sharks teeth motif you used to see on the huey gunships on the cowling

    all ideas and suggestions appreciated.

Omg, I love toggle switches with emergency covers. I need to find smaller versions that don't appear quite so bulky, but they are a great touch on your mod up above.

In terms of a military-esque scheme, I've been a big fan of the digital/pixelated look of camo lately. Can't explain, just seem to enjoy it.

thought about camo schemes first of all, and know what you mean about the digital camo. I think though for a camo pattern to have an asthetic effect it has to be applied over a large surface area. So the side of a conventional case would be fine, but as this case has no real "surfaces" I would be worried the effect would be lost. All that aside from the fact that I have no idea at all how to do it!!!!

Yeah, perhaps just a solid paint job of a single military color. But check these out...

    Trigger Switches

If I ever get the urge to do a gun/military scratch build I want to implement a trigger switch =^P
