Windows Antivirus free/paid for

    Hi All,

    apologies if this has already been posted but does anyone know of a free/paid for antivirus software that works with Windows 7.

    Avast is quite good. I use it on my Windows 7 machines at home.

    Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, and pretty much every single other Anti-virus I have tried since I switched to 7 in February this year.

    Im using Microsoft Security Essentials on both my Win 7 machines and it seems to be fine.

    Another for Microsoft Security Essentials. It's quiet, has a small system foot print and gets the job done fine, exactly what you want from a little free AV.

    All the more scary is it's from Microsoft and actually works perfectly.

    AVG 9.

    AVG has been working great for me for years, plus computer shopper magazine here in the UK just did a review on antivirus software and AVG scored the same as the afore mentioned MS one but they recommended MS over AVG.

    I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials. Have it running on 2 Desktops,1 Laptop and a Netbook all without any issues.

    As too using on the netbook (MSI Wind) it has no issues and doesnt slow it down at all.
