Competition Vote for your Game of the Year 2009

Cough* Where is Killing Floor on that list?

A true PC exclusive (OK on an oldish engine) from a true PC developer (tripwire interactive are simply the best devs for support atm) which has received multiple free DLCs adding multiple maps and new weapons (with some optional paid DLC skins). They have released regular bug fixes and all for the princely one of cost of £15 (or less if you pre ordered).

It is the only game this year I have played regularly!

 

I second the motion of adding Killing Floor.

 

I third the adding of Killing Floor also the lack of Time Gentlemen Please is most disturbing. I couldn't honestly think of 3 of those games I would say deserve this, Also anyone bitching about the lack of console releases being on the site please take a good hard look at the site you are on.

 

I voted for Mirrors Edge, FEAR 2, and L4D2

 

Erm... Uncharted 2. Hands down the best game of 2009 IMHO. Scandalous omission from the list!

Edit: Oops. Okay so it's games released on PC only. Must. Learn. To. Read. In. Full. Still, nothing on PC this year has touched it as far as I'm concerned.

 

Absolutely none of them, Preferred Halo 3: ODST over MW2, as much as i enjoyed MW2. Sorry, but for a game of the year, it should include larger titles whether they have a PC release or not, else, Change the title to Best PC Game of 2009.

It's not been entirely fruitful I will admit. I struggled to pick 3.

 

4 hour campaign, botched MP, and all around completely unimaginative and unoriginal in any way. Sounds like GOTY material to me.

Seriously though, if it doesn't win GOTY I'm sure it'll have no problem picking up the most bitched about game of the year award

 

There is only one sim (I will not call it a mere game) that does what no FPS has ever done before, true 6 degrees of freedom Dx10 combat! This is the only game of all the ones mentioned that has done something ORIGINAL, INTERESTING and CHALLENGING!

It is a work of art worthy of being placed in the finest galleries of Europe, a masterpiece of both visual and gameplay depth.

This years winner for Game of the Year comes as no surprise...

For those of you who doubt, spend a few weeks with it, understand the complexities of TRUE 3d combat, not those X and Y silly shooters you are playing now, either in Cartoon world, zombie world or Goddess forbid MW2 world (which will not have multiplay soon).
Once you understand what a true 3d FPS is you will never go back to living in a flat world. Can you handle it? Will you accept the challenge?

 

Borderlands, Shattered Horizon and Machinarium

 

Borderlands, BattleForge, and HAWX. Not the most popular, but I thoroughly enjoy(ed) all 3

MW2 was still fairly good. Granted the MP was botched but I really enjoyed the SP even if it was a bit short.

 

Tom Clancy's HAWX is the killer game from that list IMO.

 

Yeah, I was slightly wary about voting for MW2, but even though it doesn't have Dedicated Servers/Whatever it is a good game none-the-less. MW2, Shattered Horizon and Left 4 Dead 2 for me.
