How many different rigs did you test this game on again? It's not like ATI has only a 5% market share among home users.

That's piss poor programming/quality control in anyone's language.
Seriously, how did they do that? Surely they design it to work with the API (ie Direct X) not a specific piece of hardware.

Since disabling multiple CPU cores solves the problem, I'd guess it's some 'cleverly' coded assembly which deals with command queueing or something that doesn't behave quite right on ATI hardware. low level stuff, that runs below the DirectX abstraction layer.

would that enable them to change the coding just a tad to enable xbox360 and PS3 ports?

That's bad in every sense. If it was deliberate then I say "WTF?". Making pc games that only run on graphics cards from a certain company is idiotic. If you want to think that way stick to the console gaming market, pc gaming is supposed to be "Meet the minimum specs and away you go".

Surprised it took someone this long to immediately blame nVidia

    Batmangate, now this...
Reviewers should review all new TWIMTBPed games with ATi hardware, just to make sure.

There are fixes and work arounds available, just google it. Although I agree it is poor coding the game appears to be a direct port over from the consoles (i.e. seperate program to adjust display etc..) so of course will entail some 'personalising' by PC gamers to get it to work the way we want it to work. (it all adds to the joys of testing different setups. It can only be that they rushed the game through from console to PC and they invariably missed the testing on some of the hardware that us PC gamers use. No big deal, it's fixable.

As was stated (and if you took just 5 seconds to read the official forums) it seems to be caused by multicore rendering. Cries of nVidia sabotaging ATI users (see what I did there.. :p) are a bit silly, it's an interesting coincidence for sure but remains just that (so far).

Bit didn't test it on any rigs, they reviewed the PS3 version

It is strange that it got released without any testing done on an ATI card though (even if it is in the WIWMTBP program).

Works fine on my 4850. Not sure why it doesn't work for others.
