Did you ask why they're called Netbooks, even though most Atom powered ones don't have the power to view the web (ie Flash) properly?

Really? Guess the netbooks I've owned must have been special as they had no problems with flash.

Took me a while to find it...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00pbmmq/Up_All_Night_13_12_2009/

Near the end, around 3hrs 35mins

Bit of a shame that the interview with the guy from Dell took up so much of the segment, without actually saying anything.

It was nice to hear Clive giving Dell a bit of a slap for the muddy marketing of their product range.

I know that configuring your own machine on Dell's website isn't really of interest to CPC and Bit-tech readers, but I know someone who tried to do just that, got fed up, and eventually went into Curry's and bought a laptop of the shelf.

Because Dell chose this processor to power their "Netbooks"

The Atom processor copes fine with pain old youtube stuff but fails miserably with anything higher definition like vimeo or other stuff. It's a constant source of frustration for me!

Turbo mode on either the U100 or NC10 seems to do the job with flash-heavy sites. If the GMA950 could 'do' gpu accelerated flash, problem solved, but it relies on the Atom atm, which is lacking unless it's run above spec.
