i know this is mainly for case designs, but i have a sci-fi project im currently working on in 3DS max, will post some stills later
Scooby made the first post to open the thread and he didn't restrict it to cases. It sort of grew that way. Post your stuff. Modeling is tough and any examples should be shared. john
In the 'Basic Glasses' library, I slightly modified the 'Ruby' glass with the materials editor to give it a deeper red. I think a video of me creating my case design would be extremely boring and very long. It takes many hours to produce something this complex.....
A case I built for an Independent study for college. Drawn and rendered in Autodesk Inventor 2010 Don't know much about Maxwell
nice renders mick that red plexi material looks sweet Interloper, you should render that with perspectives
Been away from the desktop due to winter break - just a quick, fun render for tonight. Mostly a WIP, I plan on finishing up the mounting system in the next few days
well, it seems i'm also going to need to learn how to render, my SU model came 3rd in the first round of the MNPC contest Early attempts lead to this: Which is where i seem to be hitting a skill wall. All my attempts at this point actually made it look worse If any of you SU+KT masters (Mick maybe? ) could give me some ideas on how to progress, i'd be delighted. I'm particularly bugged by how to properly set up some lighting, i just cant even seem to find the right buttons. Plus i have no idea what all the render methods do, and i cant seem to set a background or get the carbon skin of the case to look anywhere near acceptable. Yeah, i need a lot of help Any comments here are welcome, but to prevent going offtopic too much you could also hit me up in a PM and we can skype or msn or whatever you prefer Thanks in advance! By the way, i have an Intel I7-860 running at 4GHz on all 8 threads just aching to strech it's legs, so rendering power really isn't an issue As a means of thanking you, i could even render some scenes for you on my PC if you want to, it's mostly idle during the night.
