They are indeed Altec Lansing. They're very old now, and are no longer available, but the Altec VS4121 are the ones that replaced them. Performance will be very similar I would imagine.

Not the most powerful, but sounds very nice indeed. Very uncoloured mid range, with pure highs, and nice tight bass that doesn't go down the "enough sub to irrigate your colon" approach.

I agree.. Mackeson is MUCH nicer than guinness!

Cleaned up today, only the desk area is clean...

This should all be different soon, want to upgrade every thing. 19" monitor isn't cutting it any more.

Well remember that night you left your bedroom window open? :D

It's actually the 6.3" touchscreen I use for tools in photoshop or whatever (it actually makes turnaround times a LOT faster), or for the computer when I'm on the Xbox, I got it for about a tenner and it works :p

If I'm using photoshop I use that as like an MP3 player, I do actually use it like a netbook at college

Re-assembled Compact Mess after about a year of various stages of disassembly. Actually thinking of continuing the mod after this set of exams is done :)

I definitely need more table-space :wallbash:

Little update of my place. I got a new sofa, a new TV and (as I said in the latest purchase thread) a new PS3 (which is not technically new but w/e)

Still, you don't know how I love these things

Love the look of the desk Ghys, plain and simple, though, i would have gone for another colour my self.
What are the speakers i see dotted around the room? Look nice and small, a handy space saver.

    thx

The desk is like 15 year old (if not more). We got it from Bell Canada I'm not sure how. We didn't really have a color choice :D

As for the speakers, they're 10 year old Cambridge Soundworks (Creative) FPS2000 Digital. After all these years they're still awesome and I don't intend to replace them any time soon :)

Yep. My closet is behind my desk. Been that way for like 2 years. I rarely use my closet, but now I am finally starting to... I'm going to redo my room sometime in the next month hopefully...

I'd be afraid of what lives in an unused closet for 2 years. I think I saw that movie. Didn't turn out well.:jawdrop:

Not _MY ROOM_ but our walk-in closet. Some of the cases are empty/not in use, but that's still two routers, two servers (latest addition being E2140-build with all my extra HDDs inside) and an UPS. I always crack up when I walk in there and see all that in the corner.. Yeah welcome to the nerd penthouse. :D (also had to drill a hole to the wall to get power and network there, but don't tell anyone)
