    @ sesterfield

Everything you see bolted to it came with it. I had thought about changing the lights as there off of a jetta and shake around a bit

I have to agree with sesterfield - I'd be slapping standard lights and the original BBS' on there too. :D

Nice car though, a Mk2 is on my list of must-own cars. :)

Well given that it's a small-bumper 16v with big doors I'd imagine it would have had bottlecap wheels as standard. What shade of blue is that? It looks like Helios Blue (LA5Y) to me, but it's hard to tell from the picture.

I'm such a Golf geek :duh:

Yes you are. Are those really standard alloys? Don't think I've seen 'em before.

Im not sure what blue it is,*watch this space* and @ Krikkit if youve never taken 1 for a test flight what are you waiting for? They can pull away in second and easily hit over 60mph in the same gear

No, the wheels on it now look like replica Borbet C's. The standard alloys would have looked like this:

Sad day today - Dad borrowed my car because his Audi's DSG software can't cope with snow properly, and bad things happened...

    From this:

    To this:

It's a write-off, he's fine thankfully, and from how he tells it there's nothing he could've done. Bus came the other way, drove over the pile of snow in the middle of the road which covered the windscreen and him (window open), by the time he'd got the icy salty crap out of his eyes the traffic in front had already stopped and wham, straight into the back of a van. The vertical crease in the bonnet is from the roof ladder and the major damage is one of those step things they have on the back - totally broken all the steering rack and wishbones when the engine crumpled into them. The front wheels are even cocked in so you can't move it.

I shouldn't be upset over a bit of crappy metal and plastic that was probably getting scrapped in a month or so, but it's a bit different seeing it ruined rather than sending it away... :(

.... and that's why my car is moving nowhere until this snow and ice has melted.

Sorry for your loss, hopefully your Dad will feel guilty and help finance a better car ontop of the insurance money. :D

Perhaps he was even just warm? It gets warm quickly in a car with all windows up, and merely reducing the heater setting takes ages. I often have my window down when it's cold for that reason.

    Glad your Dad's OK Krikkit.

If you were here where I live you'd swear differently, your car would mean more to you then half of the human excrement waling around the streets near me. :grr:

for the record I drive a 206 1.4l lx, tis not the best car in the world but as with any car its all down to the driver :thumb:

In winter, especially when the windows are dirty, it steams up really quickly - and on a nice day like yesterday was (sunny), why not? I'd rather be cold and have fresh air than sit in a stale air conditioned box.

    Glad your dad's ok.

I've been in a car accident (was taking a bend too fast and went into a crash barrier), I pressed the brakes, the car spun etc. I can tell you, as glad as I was that I was alright, and didn't cause any anyone else to have an accident too, I was mega miffed about the car. It only takes a second for it all to go pear shaped.
