To help support the power supply I fabricated some posts made from a rubber bumper, 1/2-inch spacer and some nuts on a 6-32 socket cap screw:

The hard drive cages are too tall to remove them from the case without having to first remove the entire lower shelf. To help ease that burden I devised a three-point mounting system whereby the cage is held tight to the bottom of the case via a center post and two socket cap screws.

The hard drive cage's center support was drilled to have just a half a circle via a sacrificial piece of angle material:

With that, the fabrication phase of this case build is done.

Is that the powerswitch at the back? Next to the PSU.

Yes, the power switch is on the back (as requested by the client), mounted alongside a hole for a 120mm intake fan. The mounting plate for the power supply is on the bottom. Both plates are the same size, so if one wanted to, their locations could be swapped. :thumb:

Ah, an intake at the back.

It'd be nice if the client could get some pictures up when all the gears inside.

Here's a peek of the finish, which consists of two applications of a water-based black stain followed by two coats of wipe-on polyurethane. The two coats of polyurethane yields just enough shininess to match all shades of black computer hardware. :thumb:

Looks like ebony. Probably wishing that it was. ($150 per board feet)

I still don't like the black, but if it blends into the client's room like that, so be it. I think the black is a turn-off for me because of seeing lots of furniture ruined by teen-agers spray painting it black.

Two-tone would've looked awesome. But hey, it's the client's call.

    Still super work though, man!

This is a lovely wooden case that you have build. I especially like your attention to detail. This is evident in the way the wood grain is oriented in post #77. Simply beautiful man. I too liked the unstained look, but the client gets what the client wants. Overall it still looks awesome
