We've been having frequent power cuts here recently (crawley, sussex) and i'm just wondering if it's a local thing or a more general problem. In the past 2 months or so, we've had at least 6 power cuts, ranging from a few minutes to a few hours, it's got to the point were we have brought extra torches and candles and my dad retrieved my old camping stove from the garage and we keep it inside now... What do you reckon? are we just being extremely unlucky here or is there a bigger underlying problem?
Bucks, Beds and Northamptonshire border here and I've had no recent power cuts, touch wood. Perhaps people closer to you can report.
Mate.. I hate to say this but... Your in crawley! I have only ever been twice for any real length of time (a week or more) and on both occasions the power went. Maybe the mayor p*ssed on a witch? Andy
A few months ago we had 3 powercuts within a week. What makes it worse is our house is on the critical users list so we should get notification of maintance etc. Im starting to wonder if a) They failed to do that b) An accidental switch off c) The system cannot cope I hope its not C. Electric cars will be fun >.>
Where I live we had a few power cuts a couple of months ago. The power would go out for a few hours, go back on for about ten minutes, off for a minute, back on for another while, off for a minute etc another 2 or 3 times. Uni barely had his folding rigs back online and the power would cut again, gave up after the third mini-cut. Pointless story except to say I feel your pain
I suggest you just ring up the people who supply the electricity in Crawley to be honest - they will at least tell you what is going on.
Same.... From the sounds of it it could well be something to do with a local substation as it is so localised
Ironically in numbers tonight it was the ep where "terrorists" where taking out substations to force a back up generator in a prison to use fuel so they could use the fuel delivery as a means of getting in.......CONSPERICY!!!!
Where i am west wales we get power cuts all the time some times 4 a day I've lost count how many over the last year .
Aren't the power cuts because of snow on the lines? No power cuts here although we did lose our water for an hour yesterday.
Not here we get them all year round regardless of the weather , As for the water here sometimes quite often the color is brown bit like something you would flush down the toilet and welsh water tells us its fit to drink "yeah" I only drink filtered.
I think we've been upgraded Past day or so we've got frequent power brownouts instead of power cuts! Yay for us
One step closer to living the dream Last I was in Crawley, it was quite built-up, so I'm surprised they have problems supplying electricity to people.
