I thought it was reasonable, but then I could watch David Tennant wiping his arse and find it entertaining. The worst part for me was Matt Smith's five seconds. Spoiler The who-what are the what-what now? I somehow missed that bit. Finally: Donna Noble = Brilliant. Spoiler It was Wilf!
Weeping Angel - "Quantum Locked" baddies from Blink: Spoiler Rassillon made reference to them during the conference scene that alluded to some of the time-lord dissenters beeing turned into them They're also in the trailer for the new season.
Spoiler The two dissenters were also standing there with their hands over their faces in the same weeping angel manner.
The weeping angels are not time lords the line that the president says is that; "The vote is taken, only two stand against and will stand as monuments to their shame like the weeping angels of old. Now the vanguard stands prepared as the Children of Gallifrey return to the universe. To Earth."
Overall, I found it entertaining, but yes, had quite a number of plot holes. Will miss D.T. (which I took a little bit to warm up to). One thought though:- Spoiler Was the glove Rassilon wore the same/similar to the one from the start of Torchwood
Spoiler It looked very similar to me. As the glove giveth, so it taketh away? It's a real annoyance to me that, just as the series is getting a good writer, Tennant is leaving. Matt Smith just isn't The Doctor.
(Related, but not to do with the show itself, you've been warned ) http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100107/ten-doctor-who-accused-of-anti-ginger-ag-8a3eada.html ...I wish ginger parents would actually LISTEN before complaining
I liked Rose's mum in those black shorts And I can't stand the bow tie look, creepy childrens doctor thing, bahhhhh
Yep, first thing I thought when I saw the new Doctor when he was first announced "oh no, not an emo!" Although, who knows, he might be good. When Tennant emerged as the new doctor, I couldn't stand him, but two episodes in and I warmed up.
That looks awful. Doctor Who would be so much better if they got rid of the crap jokes / witty comments.
That's what they said about Bond, and what we got was Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, which regardless of whether they were any good were definitely not Bond films. I'm not sure it would be Dr. Who without the terrible jokes just as it wouldn't be CSI without Horacio Cane's horrible one-liners.
I was told they weren't there in the old Doctor Who episodes and only have been introduced in the new ones.
I hoped that the new one would be the same as the Christmas Special Episode 2008 Now we have a creppy Emo ! Bloody hell
I've never been able to watch Dr Who with my brain switched on - I find it easier to take Red Dwarf seriously. Is there a trick to it? I'm not flaming, it really is a genuine question.
