?

Should i keep posting logs the way i do. Blurring what the build will end up looking?

  1. Yes, thats gonna be more exciting than knowing what to expect.

Yeah I'll post some pics somewhere when it's done :p Or might start a worklog if there's a non-computer forum somewhere lol
It is pretty complex, the BS2 microcontroller I'm using doesn't support multi threading, so I'm having to do things like use software hacks and make external timer circuits using discreet components :p

 bit-tech should make a forum just for that !
It would be sweet for all of us who likes to se electrical components being put together to create something usefull ( and beutyfull? )

Just becoming nostalgic. When i got my firsy computer, a c64 at the age of 10-13. i was quick to learn basic and assembler. Then i went with C++. When i also liked working with my hands i became an master cabinet maker apprentice at Rud Rasmussen. I fell so in love working with wood that the programming skills got lost. That begun some 17 years ago. Talking bout it made me kinda nostalgic, realising that abbreviation of my build is asmc. Why not name my mod asmc++ ??

( mmmm, did i eat to many vegstables yesterday ?? )

Yeah it's a shame they don't have a forum just for electronic projects, particularly as there's a potentially big1 crossover between what's a computer project and what's an electronic one! The mods should get on this :p
I first learned BASIC on an Amstrad CPC464, complete with cassette tape drive for loading games and programs! :D Used to love making interface cards for it that had relays for controlling lights and such, was immense fun! :D

I don't think they'd mind much if you put it up in the project logs honestly. True they could have a separate forum topic for Misc Projects.. but I also know I've seen a few projects that weren't computers. Worst thing that could happen is they bump it over to another part of the forum. I'd still follow it.

Would be exciting to se what your up to :)

Ever had a day where everything that pulls you down seems to be linked to you, trying to progress fast on your build ?

    This is how Wednesday went:
First at work i decided to call the wood supplier since i havent yet gotten my materials.
The hadnt delivered yet, because of the cold weather we ( also ) have in Denmark, their halls had to much moisture in then, so the wood would simply have a life of its own if moved to higher temperated workshops. ( It bends and curves )
So date of delivery is now unknown. :(

    Next i got home.
Ever had a girlfriend being so kind that she decides to "clean" up your build progress.
Now its easily accesible in a wardrobe that was empty. Only problem is i cant either recognise which part is for what since she ruined my system for all the parts that havent been glued yet for the mediacenter. :sigh: :duh:

Next when i got her out the door, i wanted to watch some TV. Guess what. My 32" LCD screen has broken. Now i have to go buy the LED for the build some 2months in advance. I was waiting for a newer model to arrive. :wallbash:

So sorry i havent wrote back to you guys. I just had one of those days.

I'll post a work log soon :D I'm currently wiring up 64 LEds in a 8 by 8 matrix to test the multiplexer :p

And oh GOD I've SO had days like that! I thought it was bad enough tryna solder leads onto the tiny pins of a surface mount chip, only to have the thing ping out of the crocodile clips I was using to hold it and get lost in some dark corner on the floor.
