What PC multiplayer fps are people playing most online at the moment? And which online fps are still their favourite, even if it isn't the latest PC game?
Battlefield 2. Some vanilla and some Forgotten Hope 2 mod have kept me interested. Bad Company 2 is a good game but it just can't compare to a genuine battlefield title like BF2.
I would've said MW2 up until about two weeks ago when the BFBC2 beta came out and I realised what I'd been putting up with, the amount of lag in MW2 is unbearable. So yeah, Battlefield BC2. And maybe Arma 2 if you fancy something hardcore. I'd also say CS:S if you haven't played it before, hard to get into but once you're addicted you'll stay addicted for a good year at the very least.
most popular will be COD MW2(far from the best though, lol), and CS:S. (Team Fortress 2 & Left4Dead are pretty well known too) i like Shattered Horizon the best though.
Games like COD, UT, BF and CSS can be great fun, but unfortunately they are so overpopulated with complete cockends that I really struggle to play any of them nowadays. For me L4D 1/2 are the only ones I really enjoy. Yes you will get griefers and the odd ****** you will go out his way to genuinely ruin a game, but in my experience theres a much higher chance of getting 4-8 players who are willing to play a fair, fun, competitive and friendly game than in a larger scale FPS game.
Mf2 (Call of duty:Modern warfare 2) especially for the co-op , straight out multiplayer is a bit sucky at the moment because of the no dedicated servers (hopefully they will change that) TF2 (Team fortress 2) is very popular and great fun. Cod 4 is insanely fun too.
by far the best= COD4 Still one of the most popular FPS online my favourite at least. i own MW2 and COD 4 and MW2 can eat some expletives as far as im concerned. MW2 rocks on the console mabye even beating COD4 but as far as PC FPS's go, COD4 still dominates in my mind.
Well i changed from CSS to MW2, and yes it is at times laggy and has its flaws, but it is top of my list of FPS games, COD4 is a close second. Spend wisely, i was going to buy BFBC2 untill i played the BETA, it put me off no end, im not slagging it, but not my cup of tea
Shattered Horizon is pretty good for plain ol' FPS multiplayer (in zero-gravity). Not to mention it can be had for £7.49.
We'll see what kind of maps and fixes BC2 comes out with, but for now BF2 is still far better than BC2.
I still play a lot of CoD2, played 4 on the PS3 but I think 2's still the best. Playing a lot of CS:S Insurgency atm as well, when I'm in more of a hardcore mood. Have yet to try Shattered Horizon, looking forward to it though. PS best thing about CoD2 is you don't need the disk for multiplayer, epic lan cheesecake
