More 'almost-updates' to keep the worklog going.

Did some more sleeving yesterday because I found some heatshrink in a box (I thought I'd run out and placed an order at MDPC-X to replenish supplies :p)

    Anyway, pics.

4-pin molex cable. It had 3 molex 4-pin connectors and one floppy power connector:

It got the chop because all I needed were two connectors:

    Removing the pins:

    Ended up with this:

And a bunch of other sleeved cables (4-pin molex, 6-pin PCIe and 8-pin EPS):

More updates soon (promise - I'm near the end now, and I'm not faffing about :D)

Thanks man. I just wrapped up the 24-pin cable, but too tired to post pics (it's 2am).

    Will update tomorrow! :D

Right, so I promised another update and here it is.

I got more heatshrink, a crimping tool and a bunch of male/female and fan pins from MDPC-X. Muchos gracias to Nils for throwing in some extras :)

    Cartoon, as usual :D

Crimping tool (it really gives a perfect crimp!)

    Same tool with jaws open
    [IMG]

Heat gun. I left my other one in LA and doing big heatshrink with a lighter is a colossal pain in the rear.

And the sleeved 24-pin cable (finally!)

I'll probably be done by the weekend (with a temporary side panel, while I keep badgering CM to get replacement side panels to India).

Have you checked the timezones? :D

Beautiful work, though. That front panel looks ominous!

I got word that the AMD-edition side panels for the HAF 932 will be hitting the CM store in a week or two. Those are pretty much what the doctor ordered for this build, so I might actually take you up on your offer once those become available and if CM India still haven't got their act together.
    I haff mizzteriuz vays :D
    Thank you! :)

EDIT: Looking at the 24-pin cable is pissing me off. I think I'm going to redo it and sleeve each wire all the way.

Hehe, I was about to ask you if you'd run out of sleeve. :p

Looking very nice so far, by the way.

Actually I did run out! :duh:
Just used 38feet of black sleeving on the wires and there are 10 left to do. Should have measured before starting. Now I have to order AGAIN from MDPC. I really need to plan this stuff out better.
Thanks b4Oz :D Good to see you posting again!

    :hehe:
Good timing on the revival though.

I'll get working on it tomorrow as I'm home sick with some sort of evil mutant flu.

Plans have changed drastically, however, as I cannot justify sinking tons of cash into this given that I spend no more than 2 months of the year in India and am unlikely to return to this home once I'm done studying. I will just complete the loop with a 240mm radiator and leave it at that.
