    A soft drink would work about as well on my desktop as Ubuntu did. :D

    Yeah, there's a non-profit coffee shop in my town which sells this stuff. I still haven't stumped up the guts to get a can and ask the proprietor if they can stock a few cds or something...

    Seriously, I've recently switched to an all ubuntu set up for work, and I've never looked back. I'd go as far as to say it was EASIER to install than Win XP (never tried installing vista or 7, so can't vouch for those)

    I'm fairly sure that when I get my new file server for home finished, it's going to run Ubuntu. Being inexperienced in the field does not dissuade me at all, because my visual programming lecturer at Uni knows his way around Ubuntu like I know my way around Windows and has been writing programs for it for decades :D

    Yup. I already had it, so I used it. It's just a file server.. it's not doing anything exotic, and it serves only 2 PCs. Any OS can do that.
