    Hi

I have just started building my first pc and after hours of research it seems the reason I am getting no picture is because the bios is not up to date.

    I have a i7 930 and Asus P6T SE.

How am I supposed to update the BIOS with no supported CPU? Help! Thanks.

Did you buy the motherboard and cpu from the same supplier?
If so I would contact them explaining that you think the BIOS does not support the cpu and could they reflash the board or arrange for ASUS to supply a new BIOS chip.

I am slightly curious as to why you think it is a BIOS issue, the board or processor could quite simply be faulty.

Generally, if it's a CPU incompatablility problem, you should still be able to post, but with something like an 'Unsupported Processor' Error

Only the latest bios supports that chip 0608 i did one the other day for a mate and had to use my spare 940 to update the bios.
I would contact where you bought it from if they sold you both items it's down to them really.
Just read your post again are saying it wont boot or your just not getting any display.

    -rep for sarcastic humour?

That was the only laugh I got all day, so I don't think I care. He deserved a click. And, of course, he did help the OP.

I said he helped the OP by providing an explanation and a link, I didn't say I helped.

Obviously you've taken offence at my amusement at a humorous response to your post, so I'm out - life's too short.
