I recently dug out my tiny tablet from woot earlier and drew a little thing for an assignment. This is the first time I have used a tablet for drawing, and the first time I have seriously drawn something. I used the all to famous Relix picture as inspiration. I drew this on a 5" diagonal tablet, which had the area shared between two screens, so I had a small amount of space to work with. I was wondering if I could get some creative comments, and some tips on drawing and tablet use in general.
If your tablet's that small, it might be worth trying it in mouse mode. Otherwise, the Monster Cutie tutorials are worth a watch: http://monstercutie.com/blog/2009/03/27/digital-painting-101/
Thanks! I did catch myself trying to use the pen like a mouse a few times. I don't think that I can do that with my drivers, unless you change it in Windows itself. I use a Digipro WP5540, so its 5.5" by 4". The university has some nice Cintiq's I could use, but I have to be granted permission to use them though.
Do whatever it takes to borrow that Cintiq. Otherwise, I'd seriously look at getting one of the other Wacom tablets for home use.
I'm asking my Professor later today to get access to them. I just loaded up Photoshop as that was the first thing that came to my mind.
The wacom tablet software lets you restrict how much of the screen the tablet uses, might be an idea (if your software can do it) to restrict it to a single screen to give you a bit more working space.
