@Cuzza - Cool.:D -House everything but the heatsink. I like that idea. I fear Dark might zap you on the ITX board, though. I guess this could be done if you had an access panel for the back of the board.

@Editor - I've read a lot of tests that said the surface area in direct contact with the fans determined the cooling ability...I can't use words today. IR in dumb mode.
-anyway, Who cares. It looks neat, and that what's important here. A batch of Delta finger-eaters on that would cool anything.:hehe:
-Looks like a walking tank, BTW.

@Dullonien - I thought Summer would be good too. These things are gaining too much momentum. Someone yelled GO, and everyone jumped in.

    Loving that rad editor.

Heres where i am atm, Its in a similar style to my orb' design but built completely from scratch, Im not overly happy with it.

The 'milk bottle' looks odd, the rad surrounds need to be smoother and the base is too clunky, but that houses hard drives so ill have to work something out.
Its a little bigger than i was hoping for, but i think i can shorten the main tube and still fit everything in. houses

FYI, it's not an ITX board, I happen to be using a 244x183mm microATX board, smaller than usual but I reckon within the rules.

    @Editor - Coooool.:D
@Titanium - I like where you are going. I think what might be bothering you is the low polygon count. That's most of the reason why you have those odd shadows and joins.
It would look neat with the hoses running off the sides.

Damn, I'm soooo hanging out to see what you guys are coming up with. Mine's nearly finished already so no more spoilers from me until the final design. I had to go hard now because I'm not going to have any time in the next couple of weeks.

@confusis, nice to see another NZer here!

Yeah we're a rare breed when it comes to being into gaming/computers lol. That and the supplies of decent hardware in NZ is too pricey/hard to get that a lot of people give up

Yeah, and so some of us resort to designing in sketchup. Where you can get any part you need, for free.

uhm, i really hate not participating this time round :( but the cnc is just taking too much time :(
great stuff so far guys !

@ titangel, u should really think of using a different 3d programm with a design like that, the problems ull run into with sketchup are just not worth it....

Ughhhh, just when I thought I was doing well I have discovered the rendering thread, my mind is now extremely boggled....I've never done and 3d rendering, didn't even know really the meaning of the word and now I have another enormous learning curve to climb to make this thing presentable.

OK that was ten minutes ago now I'm reading up on the old case design contest threads.... Do I have this right? We all do our sketchup models and post sketchup pics only.... then we vote for finalists and the finalists do some fancy 3d renders for the final vote?
