Update! Yes, really.

Although I'm still not done with the second case I'm working on, I did get some spare time to do some work on Prime today.

I've fitted all the connectors in between the drive cages, and made a bracket for them. What's left now is to glue them all in place.



Finally get to use all those pass-through molex connectors I got from ACRyan for this project, the really were perfect for this!



You just push the pins in and clip it all together:





After that I just cut out a mounting-plate for them and bolted it all onto the modified inner panel.















I hope this'll keep you interested until I really continue the build

Thank you for your cooperation. Sweet setup. It's going to be snug pulling molex plugs from between those 2 cages. I'd break in those buggers really well before I used them. -ever get a plug that wouldn't let go?

 

I'm still interested. 14 power connectors (if I counted right) looks.... scary

 

I don't even care if you're building a case or something completely different, it just looks fantastic

 

Actually there's plenty of space in there, I can even rotate my hand without touching the cages. Also, I've got a bag of those handy push-molex connectors to use for the cables

Good! Yep there's one for each storage drive, the remaning four drives are to be used as a striped system array, and won't be removed very often.

It doesn't really look like a case does it! But that's cool, shows you're doing something new Glad you like it. I'm actually a fan of your previous case so getting your approval tells me I must be doing it right!

 

Loving it more and more. Your attention to detail really inspires me. Keep the great ideas coming, you just keep giving us more ingredients to work into our next mods :-D.
