Well, if you go with no button, then there is no reason for the metal to stop 2/3 of the way across. How 'bout instead of a non-functional button, you do a power led? Cut a square piece of frosted acrylic and back light it.
What is this "acrylic" you speak of? The light idea is cool but I'm looking to do something simpler. I have no problem using a non-functional button. I place that in the same category as using UV or tinted coolant. Pure form...no function. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet other than exercise some patience. BTW, as predicted, the SSD box has been coming off and on so much during all this that the friction fit has loosened up. I just painted two of the four sides (the two that show ) to tighten things back up. I don't think black is out of place if you consider the entire package. I have three small black pieces on the back that are approximately the same size. Gloss black, wood and shiny metal can be a very nice combo if done right. Thanks for the input.
I think you are right for the black it is just that alone in the front the black button seemed kind of alone.

Big, big thanks to everyone who commented and played along. It has been a fun ride. Anyone remember that box I got from VIA that contained the Pico board? Well, it turns out there was something else inside. Stay tuned.
Brilliant work slip. Another amazing mod, and I am glad to have been along for the ride. Do you mind posting some performance figures? Particularly media playback, I'm interested in CPU usage during 1080p youtube streaming and 1080p .mkv playback.
@Cuzza: That face makes me think 'Hell yeah bitches, I'm complete.' @SlipperySkip: I'd like to see some performance figures too, if it's not too much of a hassle.
Well, I don't know how you do it. Each project just gets better, and each new one becomes my favourite. Congratulations, this is just terrific and I love it.
Amazing work - a really great project to follow; I enjoyed every update, and wish you luck in any future projects.
I became a fan of the Level 10 case the first time I saw it, and I'm also a big fan of this desk-space friendly version. It looks awesome
