    thanks folks. :)

I'm using a Panasonic HDC-SD10 Full HD Camcorder and then editing it in Pinnacle Studio. The reason I'm only upping in 720p is because I don't think I have anything "THAT GOOD" which warrants 1080 quality..Although I think the final product video is likely to be in 1080 ;)

Nice video tutorial craig :thumb: I've lost more those tiny hub clips than I care to recall.

Only thing more annoying than tiny hub clips are tiny, hard to replace screws :(

mnpctech - Cheers :) I was a little worried when I pinged one off but thankfully it didn't go too far..*phew*

Elledan - Agreed, despite me having boxes full of computer screws whenever I lose "that one" I never have one around. :wallbash:

Only a small update here, sorry folks. The weekend seemed to disappear before my very eyes :(

Now that the paint has dried on the fans I put clear lacquer on them and now they are very shiny :)

I still need to braid the cables but thats a task for another day.

In other news I had a small package delivered while away at work...

500 Black Pop Rivets which were actually cheaper than just buying the 80 odd that I need.

Should make the pop rivets blend in rather than having silver.

Thats it for now although I'm still working on my next video which I swear takes longer to edit than actually do.. *sigh*

Modarubby - they are great fans :)

So another new video. Really spoiling you this week :p

My modding plans for the rooftop have come to a juddering halt as I've ran out of cutoff wheels for my dremel clone and I'm a little puzzled on how to do the next bit. Maybe it will come to me after a drink...or two :)

Which speed did you order? I got the medium speeds. On www.performance-pcs.com they had about 5 different speeds. Very Low/ Low/ Medium/ High/ Very High.

    or three. :thumb:

Interesting cable braiding look. I like.

I'm liking this, as I've been meaning to sort out the ugly grey of my HAF. This'll be my modding project for the summer holiday :) Two questions though:

Can you just list the spray paint order you used? As I've never done proper spraying. Also, how many cans did you use?

What are you going to do for dust filters? I'm currently using tight weave mesh with thin tights material (stolen from my GF) over it, and it seems to be helping :)

You got the high speeds and they aren't loud? I just might exchange them. Thank god I haven't painted them yet!

I just painted the mesh front of my HAF 922 Mid and used almost a whole can of colored spray. Well it wasn't a very large can, probably medium size. So I would get about 4-5 medium sized cans if I was doing the interior.

2 Big cans of Primer should do you fine.

    1. Sand the surface if it is painted or the primer will not adhere to the surface

    2. Spray a light coat of primer.

    3. Lightly wet sand it. Leave some of the grey primer on. Don't sand it all off.

    4. Spray a nice even coat of primer. Followed by another to make sure the entire surface is covered

    5. Follow by at least 3-4 coats of color.

    Things to keep in mind:

Don't spray too close to the surface because you dont want the paint to run or bubble.

Five light coats is better than 2 heavy coats.

Make sure you let your parts air dry at least 15 minutes between coats.

I have 3 of the 1850RPM GT's and they're as quiet as my 2 noctuas I'm currently using. Whoever decided on grey fan blades is crazy, although atleast they're well made. I'll test the primer on the inside of my HAF's side pannel as I really CBA to sand it all :p

You guys with all your abbreviations drive me bonkers. CBA? Cant Be Arsed? LMFAO.

    IMHOLMFAOROFLJKJPCBAAFKBRBTTYLIDK

And you don't have to sand the inside of a case unless you have a really smooth sheet metal surface. The insides of most cases are that rough aluminum or steel. You can watch Craig's (this is his project) video on painting the interior. He says that primer is not needed due to the already semi-rough surface of the inside.

If yours is already painted inside (and if its a HAF it isn't factory painted) you must sand it. I sprayed primer on my front mesh and it came right off with just a brush from my finger.

And now I'm off to install my recently acquired Windows 7 Ultimate KN 64-bit!

Bloody pete - for the interior green I had to get

2x 400ml White Primer (needed for the bright green)
    2x 400ml Flourescent Green

Modarobby is pretty much bang on with the method tho.

As for dust filters, I haven't decided yet..I could "borrow" some of the better half's but I think they are all fishnets :wallbash:
