Sony's set to offer free-of-charge 3D patches for several PlayStation 3 games, when its 3D firmware launches this summer - possibly next month.

Four games - WipEout HD, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, SuperStardust HD and PAIN - are set to roll out alongside the PS3's 3D firmware update and Sony's confirmed that owners of the vanilla, 2D versions will be able to "upgrade" to 3D for free by downloading a patch from the PlayStation Network.

The four games are set to be bundled with the company's 'launch model' 3D Bravia, which will launch ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, of which Sony is a sponsor.

It's been reported that any games receiving retrospective 3D adaptations will likely see resolution and textures downgrades in order to maintain a smooth framerate, which is fair enough really.

Sony's previously gone on record that it thinks "stereoscopic 3D is possibly going to be the biggest revolution in gaming for many years to come."

    *snip*

Thus it begins, the world of 3D is upon us. Killzone 3 will be 3D as well (you'll need the glasses) and use the same engine as Uncharted 2.

So, err, do you work for ComputerAndVideoGames.com or what?

Bit-tech.net has it's own perfectly good news service, and you can comment on each article in its dedicated thread in this very forum!

And if Bit-Tech don't deem it news, I don't want to comment on it here either.

If I see another low content copy+paste thread from you, linking CVG or anywhere else, then I'm going to ban you, warrior.

I like CVG, but stop taking the piss.

Really? Why? Is this about CVG, IGN, 1up, or about just discussing a topic? I'm serious here, because if this is just a site war thing then let me know. I'm simply posting these things in the forum for discussion. "Stop taking the piss." What does that mean? Are these people not reliable? Explain.

If you're going to post a load of links to CVG or whatever other site you feel like reading, could you do at least do it all in one post instead of 10? We can call it 'Warrior's daily roundup of console news'. We can even make a petition to have it a sticky if you want. So long as it makes it easier for me to ignore and means I don't have to scroll down further to get to the real threads, I'm all for it.

At the end of the day, this isn't CVG, 1UP, IGN or whatever. All of those articles you linked to have comments sections or forums, so if you want to comment on them, do it there. If we want to comment on them, we will do it there. I honestly don't know why you feel the need to post them all here.
