I've recently considered building a new pc and am now in two minds about a suitible case for it I'm aiming for a Core i3-530 build, along with overclocking it I'm on abit of a budget, so looking into other "cheap and cheerful" builds they tend to via for the SilverStone PS02B Case but looks wise it doesn't fit my aesthetic need (picky as it sounds, but that silver plate on the front bothers me) I'm looking for something solid black, pref with the PSU bay favouring the bottom. A fan slot in the front along with the roof would be a big plus too. Sticking with the budget, absolute max price I'd be willing to go to is £50
Have you had a look at the Coolermaster Gladiator 600? YouTube. Seems to fit your bill/specs and, in my opinion, a smart looking case. £50 here
Well, Antec 300 only comes with rear and top fan, so would need to get 1 or 2 120mm fan for front as well as one for side-panel. But I guess that's optional however I think at least 1 front fan would definitely needed.
If you want an aluminuim case and can stretch the budget another seven quid, try this Sharkoon Rebel9 Aluminum £57.55 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Sharkoon-Rebel9-Aluminum-Black-Mid-Tower-Case-w-o-PSU
That looks immense value. It looks lovely, and... well... I'd prefer that over a Antec300. It appears to not come with fans though, so it may end up more than £7 extra. Just work a bit harder and get that IMO. Who cares if Sharkoon sounds utterly stupid... just remove the name badge
Takes 5 fans, comes with 1 apparently - 1 x front, 2 x side, 1 x back and 1 x top. http://www.sharkoon.com/html/produkte/pc_gehaeuse/rebel9_aluminum/index_en.html?id=r9alu
A very good looking and functional case is the Fractal Design Define R2 Black Pearl http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=product&category=2&prod=32 less than £80
All parts ordered Opted for the Sharkoon one Thanks for all taking time out to suggest what you did to me
Cool, come back and tell us how you get on. I, for one, particularly want to hear about the Sharkoon case. It is very, very good value for an aluminium case so I would like to hear your thoughts on it if you wouldn't mind.
...Ah. Further investigation suggests this isn't an all aluminium case. What I think you get instead is an aluminium front panel mounted on the steel backbone of the standard Rebel chassis. It looked too good to be true, and it is. Still looks pretty damned good, though.
