Nope, have to say I didn't know about that at the time. The main performance gain came from the engine remap. I had no black soot worth talking about. This was no screw-it-out mod
All Diesel when you put your toe down will give off black soot/smoke out the exhaust in between gear changes. To stop this you Clean the EGR valve out and then block it off with a plate cover. But that doesn't matter as you don't have the car now he he....But worth knowing if you every get another diesel.
I'm driving a turbo diesel at the moment I meant "additional" smoke like you get when you screw up the fuel mixture - the Focus had none of that, probably just the usual amount of emissions
I have to say my car does give off a bit more black smoke than it used too after the re-map. But like you said, that is down to the air/fuel mixture
I hope wherever my Focus is now that it's still going well I actually had to sell it because of electrical problems. It was an intermittent fault that several different mechanics - two ford dealerships included - looked for and couldn't find, so I had to get rid of it :/

Being that i am too young to drive atm the fastest car i've been in (relative to the surroundings) and the top speed in those surroundings, was a mini cooper s that hit 80mph going up my road ~350m long. That thing was fast and the person driving it at the time was quite reckless.

I had a Buick Road Master - It had a V8, so by that large engine size I would say that car could easily get up to 140-150... I never got up that fast, but the cruise didnt work and if I didnt pay attention I would be going 85 without even realizing it. It was a boat of a car too. My Honda Accord has a speedometer that gets up to 140 - Again, I have never gone near that. Fastest I have gone in that car is around 80-85 too.

boy you got your equation signs mangled up. it's d= 0.5at^2 + Vot which is 0.5*60*1^2+0*1=30 you wanted d=Vft - 1/2 at^2 = 60*1 - 0.5*60*1= 30 still no wonder British education system is so disappointing to the foreigners.
My... Corsa 1.2 :/ It'll do 95 down country roads with ridiculous camber changes, but it's scary above 85 on the road I hit 95 on. And theoretically it'll do 106, but it hit 120000 miles on Thursday so I doubt it's got much more than 60hp now... Fastest I've been a passenger? 125 on the high-speed oval at millbrook, in a pre-production Insignia. 130mph or higher requires a helmet, which is why we stayed at 125. Tell you what, those things are smooth. They're a really nice car.
The fastest was a MK1 ford Capri 3.0E V6 had been raced up a bit I hit 160mph going up the M4 to Heathrow airport one night about 25 years ago. Second fastest was about 12 years ago in my Volvo 480es 140mph on the M4 going from Wales to london one night. Great fun!!

My RX8, stock, 147mph. Would like to put some form of FI on it soon-ish, need to swap out the apex seals first though... or maybe a 20B 3-rotor, that'd be sick. I'd love to ride in a car going 200+
Yes my son, volvo love right there! Don't think people really understand just how quick the 400 series was, i missed out on a 440 1.7 turbo with a manual gearbox (rare to find now) for £600 the other day, proper pissed off about that!
