Anyone who has ONE all time favourite film that does not waver has no taste in films. A favourite movie should always be in a perfect quantum state, at any moment it can be one of hundreds of different things but only when it's observed does it become static and at the same time dull and meaningless.
Based on number of times i've watched it ... The Great Escape Just incase you are too young, or live under a rock : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057115/
Too difficult to choose one, probably would have a tough time picking a top ten. I would reckon anyone that one chooses one film out of the countless number to pick from is maybe showing a slightly obsessive personality.
I always thought that I'd never be able to answer this question with a single film. Until I saw 'The Man From Earth'. That movie stands head and shoulders above all the others. There's something about it. If I had to show the entire human race just one movie, TMFE would be it.
Man chosing one only is hard. On the list: Snatch, Pulp Fiction, Vanilla Sky, Planet Terror, Sean of the Dead
You mean Shaun of the Dead. There are people named Sean in this country who would kill you for misspelling their name! Also, I couldn't possibly pick just one film. I couldn't even pick a top 5. I'm a self confessed movie buff. I watch at least 3 new (to me) movies per week. That's an impossibly long list to choose from!
Aliens Easily seen it 100+ times, and could happily sit and watch it tonight and still enjoy it ludicrous amounts.
I love that film, great soundtrack too Not my favourite though. At the moment that's still Survive Style 5+ I absolutely adore everything about it.
Grosse Point Blank as an awesome movie! I have absolutely no idea why, though. Same goes for The Breakfast Club, really. They are simple, but they work very well. They came before the "visual effects generation" of movies, it seems. As for naming a favorite, I have no idea. It all depends on what mood I'm in.
If you absolutely had to pin me to one film it's got to be Star Wars Ep4. It's just so... Ooh. Top 10 would be much more difficult though, I'm not choosy enough about which films I love and don't.
