After some SketchUp doodling, I decided to make a genuine Forex model of the nose idea.

Viewing from the front it didnt look half bad....

But looking form the side...it sucked. BAD IDEA.

Started with detailing using old-fashioned kit-bashing.

Hmmm isnt that an exhaust form a motorcycle.

Stick it on with some construction kit on apropiate places.

Ofcourse left and right as much equal divided.

Chrome drop shaped spoilers of the dollar shop, 6 for a euro.

Closeup of the air intake at the front.

I have nooooo idea what is was, but it is a part of my mod now !

Instead of the funny shaped nose, some strategically placed parts.

I didnt forget about the rear, also some model parts added.

No, not sticking it on just like that....

    Neatly straight angled.

    One damaged rivet.

Covered with a nice shaped modelpart.

The case is now covered with parts in all kind of strange sizes and shapes.
All in different colors, so after this tha painting will cover them all.
    Then the finer detailling starts.

Most people either take a case, mod it & it still essentially looks liek the same case or do a scratch build.

Your style is more of a "Take something that works & transform it" type of style & I've got to say that I love it! :D

It's great to see the case changing from the original to what you've made of it. A truly awesome mod.

What the F*** is this ?

    A deformed smiley ?

No, its all about this, one of the patches from the F117 squadrons.

Copied it in Forex and made nice bevelled edges on them.

    Neat little ground plate.

And this is how it is mounted on the case.

First coating egg-shell mat black on it.

    Starting to look like it.

Just for accuracy, that is the USAF symbol, it is found in all squadrons, bases, etc. It isn't specific to the F117's, and does not appear on them. The symbol commonly used on the F117 is the USAF roundel.

If you want to add little specifics for a F117, might I suggest the insignia from

    the 4450th Tactical Group-
    [IMG]

    or the 49th Fighter Wing
    [IMG]

You might also consider adding a pilot name right under the left hand window (when looking at the front of the case), like this-
    [IMG]

Great mod, I love the hacking of the case, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Mea Culpa. I was bluffing with the patch. I knew it wasnt specific F117. And ofcourse posting on UK and US forums is just asking for one like you :D who has much more extensive knowledge of this matter. Apologies please.
Youre idea with name is brilliant, credits go all to you because I WILL use the idea. Mind if I use my own name ? :D

Looks awesome. Can't wait to see the edges cleaned up and finished. I love all the small details you used from the model set.
