News Infinity Ward moving away from Call of Duty?

I have high hopes for what West and Zampella do next, lets hope they get a more reasonable publisher that appreciates the true and rate talent they have.

 

They are with EA, IIRC.

Now the dirty stuff is coming up to the surface. IW is, for all I care, dead, unless the new team creates something awesome.

IIRC stands for 'if i remember correctly'

 

They're not just 'at EA', they're with EA Partners. It's a relatively new program set up to attract established studios to EA without a lot of the caveats big publishers usually have.

Generally (it changes from partnership to partnership), the studio retains complete rights to their IP, are (for the most part) autonomous and usually only benefit from the parts of EA they actually need.

Practically all the partners involved in the program love it, including Crytek, Valve and Harmonix.

I have a feeling that Respawn Entertainment will do just fine.

 

Personally i hope that Zampella, West and Infinity Ward fail miserably.
The attitude towards pc has been disgraceful and the lying over dedi servers and the news that we were getting IW net less than two weeks before release with MW2 shames them all.

 

They (Respawn Ent) are responsible for one of the biggest casual gamer IPs ever made so Im sure they can duplicate that magic but hopefully with something of a great deal more substance as to establish themselves with credibility before they go selling themselves and PC gamers out AGAIN. lol

Screw IW as they have no innovation as greed has consumed their creativity. They may make another COD but I bankruptcy in their future.

Do you think Respawn Entertainment will give us dedicated servers so we can re-take modern warfare 2 back and ban every hacker on site? I hope so but if not then forget them. I'm looking more forward with Treyarch's Call of Duty Black Ops and dedicated servers are officially confirmed. They always look out to the PC community and never failed us!

 

the CoD franchise never did much for me anyways.
MW was fun but because of all the stuff that they removed in MW2 for the PC version I just gave up on Infinity Ward.
