Hi right i love space games but there all to my exp a bit sh1.T. i love X3, and freelancer but x3 so vast and slow and take up more time then a mmo! and freelancer is rubish when you cant get eny beter ships or wepons after you played it for a while!! also i like a space game there your able to leave the ship 2. what do you think?
Eve is good if you are a patient player. If not, don't apply. You will ragequit within minutes. However you can't get out of the ship at the moment (a future update is going to add this).
The Homeworld series was good fun imo, would personally love a modern sequel to that. Though I bet it'd get dumbed down. Mass Effect 1 and 2 are awesome too, don't really see them as super spacey though as your generally just moving point to point.
here are some of my personal favorites in no particular order. Freespace 1 Freespace 2 Descent Series darkstar 1 Freelancer - with some decent mods Starlancer Wingcommander Tachyon The Fringe
yes i played on X3 and X3 TC both are realy good and there mod comunaty are huge. but the interface is extreamy hard to navagate and it fustrats me after i massed 10000000's creadits and am trying to install factorys. also X3 tc UT Traders and space miners where broken and didt cary out there jobs like they should wich spoiled the game for me becose its a big major creadit erner!! in short yes i love, but i woul also like an rpg styal to it as well. and when you capcher ships acturl have the game turn in to a shoot am up hat would be cool. hay and wile i am on cool ad a lightsaber or to for good mesher lol lol
i actuly got it but i never instaled it coz in my view paying money every month for a game you have alrady bourght is an no no 4 me. i think i still got 30 days pubscription tho lol
now there a fuw good titals but i not shor if going bat to old graphics i can do eny more lol the good ones in there are from the 90s or erly 00s but good call
Never tried the Discovery Freelancer mod? We used to play it all the time on the LAN. http://discoveryfl.com/ Star Trek Online has space combat that doesn't feel a million miles from Freelancer, with the added bonus of ground missions. It's not for everyone though but there is an unlimited time demo if you want to try it out: http://www.startrekonline.com/demo Also, season 2 is about to hit (in around two weeks) which should bring ship interiors, bump the level cap etc.
Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta Sins of a Solar Empire was supposed to be very good, although I never liked it myself.
FreeSpace . Simply one of the best games ever made, and it's still just as good as it ever was with the FSO mod. "Incoming jump signature, Hostile Configuration!"
Played Eve for a couple of years from launch; one of the best games I've ever played but can get very political plus steep learning curve. Worth it if you've got a lot of patience and time.
X-Wing and Tie Fighter if you can get them up and running, both had excellent mission structure but Tie Fighter was better because you got to be the bad guys and being bad had never been so good. Yes the graphics don't have the whizz, bang, "cor gov look at that!" sheen of modern games but the gameplay more t han makes up for that in my opinion.
