    Fantastic.

I hope they really go the extra mile to make your choices in Origins matter and they bring back the entire voice cast. As much as it's always nice to have new recruitable characters, allowing the player to keep his or her posse can really add gravitas to the epic fantasy story.

Hopefully the good news is that they haven't handed it over to Obsidian, where good titles go to die.

I agree, really hated the fact that all 'origins' got mashed together after 10 minutes of game play, and after that, only tiny little tit-bits could be found later on (though I only played through with a Human Warrior, and a Dalish Rogue).

When you enter the dwarven city, and are given a choice as to who to back for the throne, If you played as the Upper Class/Royal Dwarf, can you elect to back yourself instead? (anyone got info on that?).
I have no idea, but I'm thinking not.

Meh, or they could release a reasonably sized game every 6 years instead of a $60 micro transaction every 14 months.

I'm a little nervous because Awakenings was really poor compared to Origins. The problem the Dragon Age games have is that unlike Mass Effect your character becomes vastly more powerful over the course of the story. This culminated in Dragon Age Awakenings almost having to resort to using dragons as cannon fodder, with any attempts at low-fantasy quests like chasing bandits turned fully bizarre by the fact the bandits were basically superhuman in their own right. The whole game just got silly at that point. Fresh start, new character, maybe overhaul the systems because anything other than mages needed a hell of a lot more variation, could be brilliant.

What I would really like to see in a game of that type though is more variation for fighter classes, I always feel a bit annoyed by the way that as magic user classes level up they increase the scope of things they can do, whereas combat classes tend to just hyper-specialise in a single type of weapon and style of fighting.

as long as they keep it primerily as a pc game then i'll be more then happy to buy it, I wonder if we'll see another Morrigan/Alistair spat, twas most humourous listening to them insult one another :D

Well this is disappointing. According to this Kotaku article, Dragon Age II isn't Dragon Age: Origins II.

Instead we'll all be playing as a new character called Hawke. You can choose between a male or female and 3 classes.

I agree with the article, this type of system is great for a more action oriented RPG like Mass Effect - but I was hoping to continue the adventures of Origins with my original character.

I'm sure it'll still be enjoyable though.

I hate to say it.. but I will definitely be playing this xD even though they made my elf mage gay and the assassin kept asking me which way I swing- it was challenging without the dlc.. the dlc made the game kind of a cakewalk though- I hope they don't make that mistake with the next

I mean put it in.. but keep the loot rewards to a minimum- extra content is good

I have a disagree, i thought Awakening was just as good if not better, it had all of the filler taken out and the best bits were kept. I do agree that it was too easy though, i tanked it all with my 2h warrior (playing in nightmare mode), whilst doing atleast 75% of the damage. Then again, Dragon Age has always been massively unbalanced..Ahwell atleast mages couldn't almost one hit your group this time.

Either way i still think its one of the best RPG's in years.

Mass effect is boring, more an average shooter then an RPG with dialog.

I disliked the mass effect games too.

Dragon Age however, I liked. I really hoped for a lot more though. I thought it was far too short, and I thought the combat was repetitive, and over simplified. It's a pity because it was a backwards step from Baldur's Gate and I was hoping for it to improve on that, not simplify it. So I have my fingers crossed for this sequel, that it will tidy things up.

    It'll be a long wait.

I missed Baldur's Gate, thought about buying it recently, worth buying? Thought i might have left it too long and its aged abit too much for a newcomer.

    Too short? :p
Yes because a 80 hour is too short.

More like 50 - 55 hours. But yeah that's still pretty long.
